1 Samuel 1:20
Psalm 23:4 The Shepherd Walks With Me

Psalm 23:4 The Shepherd Walks With Me

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the [sunless] [valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me

Sheep are animals of prey just like rabbits, both animals are defenseless and when a predator gets hungry and doesn’t want much of a fight it will go after easy prey to kill it and consume it. Animals of prey don’t sleep much if they are not guarded, sheep have shepherds so they feel safe and sleep with ease and comfortable. Rabbits sleep with their eyes open, causes they are very fearful that predators will come to eat them anytime. Being as Christians is having a walk with Christ, for a baby in Jesus it might sound strange to hear the question, “ How is  your walk with the Lord?” but this is how the word of God describes a relationship with Jesus.

Micah 6:8 He has told you, mortal one, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?

Ephesians 2:8  For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Once the Lord becomes your Shepherd, you must allow Him to guide and direct your steps in life. The valley of shadow and death is daily life, not just deep dark valleys or canyons, my sister made the statement once that surely nothing bad will happen during Christmas, but the warfare Satan has with God’s children is non-st0p. Surely animals of prey like deer’s, rabbits, sheep, or gazelle look like tasty easy meals at any time of the day, so they don’t sleep or rest well. The Shepherd staff and rod are the same tool, He protects His sheep with it and can even guides. Protecting His children from the evil forces of the devil and also guides and protects us from stupidity of ourselves. Only a foolish child, rejects protection and discipline from the Lord and our heavenly Father, He made us and He made the world, He knows exactly what is good for me and you. Surrender your whole life to the good Shepherd Jesus Christ, walk by the steps He leads you to a path straight to paradise. God bless you all, the Shepherd loves you and so do I, Shalom. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6 ]In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord [with reverent awe and obedience] and turn [entirely] away from evil.
