Matthew 6:12 A Debt Paid with Eternity Add As Interest

Matthew 6:12

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

The Greatest Sermon ever preached is in the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 5,6 & 7 & the Lord’s prayer, the guideline the Lord Jesus gave His followers as to pray to the Father God, is within the Sermon on the Mount.  Jesus I believe is at the best part of the Lord’s prayer & which is the theme of the Holy Bible & it demonstrates how good God is & how much He loves us. In Verse 12 of Matthew 6, Jesus says the most amazing thing, I don’t think most people sitting there on the mount & some Christian can fully understand. He put Himself in the prayer to ask the Father God to forgive our debts, He could have said forgive their debt, cause He owes no debt of any or at all. No other god in any other religion on the planet earth put themselves in the situation as his or her follower or creation. But the Lord Jesus did & not only in our situation, put Himself in human flesh & to be poor like us.

2 Corinthians 8:9  For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

Many Christians of different denominations will say. “God is Good,’ cause most of them know, Jesus paid a debt, we had no way of paying, even if we were Billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett, the the only payment of disobedience of the Creator is the death of someone with guilt of sin or any debt owe to God Creator.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So for a Christian to have difficulty in forgiving  another person who owes him or her any debt doesn’t make sense to the Lord. Jesus did more the ask for forgiveness for His & our sins, He even apologized & told the Father God, He was sorry for sins He never committed .

Luke 23:34 But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.

Let me ask you, how many of you like to be accused of a crime you didn’t commit & to go even deep, how many or you like to be punished for it. Rickey Jackson, spent 39 years in prison for murder, a crime he did do. He serves time for an innocent man falsely accused, going in at the age of 18 & being released at 58. A 12 year old boy named Eddie Vernon had falsely pointed at Rickey in line up, that was the evidence to have Ricky put away. 3 years after Ricky was released Eddie met with Ricky & asked forgiveness & Rickey forgave him. Rickey was paid $18 million for wrongful imprisonment, but still that is that is not as high as the debt Jesus paid all the sins of you & I. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you & so do I. Revelation 14:4 They have kept themselves as pure as virgins, following the Lamb wherever he goes. They have been purchased from among the people on the earth as a special offering to God and to the Lamb. 5 They have told no lies; they are without blame.
