John 1:47-50 Verily, You Are Real
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him and said of him, “Here is truly an Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel!” 50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”
Jesus knows who you are before you really know Him, and this is how He proves He is God. Nathanael was under a fig tree, praying to the God Almighty. He was looking for answers, looking for direction in his life. When Philip told Nathanael to come and see the Messiah, Nathanael had doubts. When Jesus saw Nathanael, He told him; you are a true Israelite, which means he had a spiritual relationship with the Lord. Then Nathanael replied, you know me, and Jesus answered by saying I saw you praying under the fig tree. Then Nathanael declared; honestly, you are a teacher, sent from God above, the King of Spiritual Israel. John 1:47-50 Jesus proves He is the omnipresence of God Almighty, the Immanuel (God with us). Lord is always near, but are we near to Him? Spiritually Nathanael was looking for the Lord, and physically, the Lord wasn’t that far away. Many Israelites rejected Jesus as the Messiah because they could not see the spiritual Lord in the physical God with us, and it was their loss. Scripture says, seek Me when I am near, but when is the Lord not near? That is a straightforward answer when we don’t seek Him. Jesus says if you love Me, obey My voice, and you will know Me. But does anyone do such? I know I do, and I have been truly blessed, not by humans but by the Lord. I know who I am because the Lord told me and showed me, and I am His child. Depression, anxiety, worry, and doubt happen because many people question the meaning of life, or their so-call purpose in life, which basically is who they are. The answer to all questions in life is we were made by God to serve and love Him. When we spiritually give ourselves to the Lord and seek Him, He will tell you, My child, I know who you are; I saw you seeking Me, and now here I am, where I always have been. God bless you all; the Lord Jesus loves you, and so do I. His bondservant, Samuel J Head.
