Revelation 18:8 The End of Time Mark

Revelation 18:8

For this reason, in one day her plagues will come, plague and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.

The Babylonian Church in the book of Revelation takes a lot of bashes. Still, the empire itself was not that bad. It was pagan, but so were the Persian, Greek, and Roman empires that are written about in scripture. Other empires and nations like the Chinese, Aztec, Mayan, Vikings, and Natives of America are also pagan. Even if they were pagan, they all have contributed something valuable to the world. They all develop ways to deal with the seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years of time. Both Hebrew and Babylonian people are credited for the weekly cycle being seven days. The Babylonian people studied the sun’s rotation and started declaring sixty seconds in a minute, sixty minutes in hours, and likewise for days of the week. The Hebrews trusted the word of God, knew a week had seven days, and it was essential for them to honor the seventh day as the holy sabbath day. The Lord did not think the king of Babylon was so evil to send him a prophetic dream. For the prophet Daniel to learn what God told him and tell the readers of God’s word, the empires would affect God’s people.

Daniel 2:26 The king said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen and its interpretation?” 27 Daniel answered before the king and said, “As for the secret about which the king has inquired, neither wise men, sorcerers, soothsayer priests, nor diviners are able to declare it to the king. 28 However, there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will take place in the latter days. This was your dream and the visions in your mind while on your bed. 29 As for you, O king, while on your bed your thoughts turned to what would take place in the future; and He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will take place.

There are many beliefs about the second coming of Christ and judgment day. Some believe there is a seven-year warning called the great tribulation or of a rapture rescue of the church. Then there is a belief called millennialism, which teaches that there are a thousand years between one judgment to another judgment. In Revelation 18:8, John the bondservant of God writes that the Babylonian church and its followers will burn up one day, brothers and sisters, which is not seven years, a thousand years, or a thousand years added another thousand years. God passed judgment on the wicked when He flooded the world, in one day and only Noah and his family survived. God judged Sodom and Gomorrah in one day, and only Lot and his daughter survived. If you or I are not following the truth of scripture and worship Him as He asks, we will perish because we believed a lie. God bless you all; the Lord Jesus loves you, and so do I. His bondservant, Samuel Jerry Head.

Luke 17:26 And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of Man: 27 people were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, and they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, and they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day, the one who will be on the housetop, with his goods in the house, must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one in the field must not turn back. 32 Remember Lot’s wife.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever. 45 Just as you saw that a stone was broken off from the mountain without hands, and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream is certain and its interpretation is trustworthy.” 46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face and paid humble respect to Daniel, and gave orders to present to him an offering and incense. 47 The king responded to Daniel and said, “Your God truly is a God of gods and a Lord of kings and a revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.”
