Revelation 16:8-9

8 And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given power to scorch people with fire. 9 And the people were scorched with fierce heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.

Even if a person is an atheist, there are many doomsday people who all believe the world will end. Anything that can cause a doomsday event is called global catastrophic risk, global nuclear war, a meteorite, or a comet impact, famine, and pandemic, are predictions of life on earth could end. A black hole is evidence of a big star went supernova, which means it exploded, and the sun the light to the earth, can and will supernova. God is in control, and He keeps creation safe. Plenty of meteorites barely miss the earth that could cause a global catastrophe and it is only by God’s mercy, the sun has done as minor damage as it could. When judgment day comes, the Lord is ready to release His wrath on those who refuse to worship Him. If anyone studies, who are what most cultures and civilizations, most have worshiped the sun as a deity or god. Humanity trusts what they see. Clearly, the sun is visible and they know life is the possibility of causing it. Solar energy helps all vegetation grow. Without sunlight, all life on the earth would live in darkness, so the people of the earth need the sun. Much religious practice has to merge itself in Christianity cause of sun worship, such as the celebration of Christmas, which around December 25, was the winter solstice, Many celebrate the winter solstice, which the ancient Romans called Saturnalia, it’s the time of year when the daylight is longer and the signs of summer are near. Sun worship was one reason the biblical sabbath was a move from the 1st day of the week (Saturday to Sunday). As Christianity was growing among the Roman Empire, many wanted the religion of Jesus and the God who gives everlasting life. But there were also many who worship the sun in the sky they could clearly see. So so-called church authorities move the sabbath day worship from Saturday to Sunday, but they use Christ’s resurrection on the 1st day of the week, as a legit reason. Many of us have been sunburned and know that heat from the sun. if powerful. Sometimes solar flares will leave the surface of the sun. like a minor explosion, causing a lot of damage. In Revelation 16:8, God stops showing the wicked the same mercy He gives to the saints, and He allows the sun to do extreme harm to those who don’t worship Him. Even as they are burning from the serious heat of the sun, they continue to curse God and refuse to repent. Sure, God is full of love and mercy. The gospels say the Lord shines down sunlight and rainfall on the righteous and wicked.

Matthew 5:45 so that you may prove yourselves to be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

The Lord doesn’t want sin to last forever, and He doesn’t want the people He made to worship, to keep living, or hurt those who do worship Him. So God ends and makes all things new because in the new heaven and earth, God is the light source and there will be no need for a sun or moon. Can you say, Amen! God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I, Samuel H.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be discovered. 11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!
