Revelation 14:1 Mark His Name

Revelation 14:1-2

 1 Then I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with Him 144,000 who had His name and the name of His Father written on their foreheads.

When I hear Christians talk and churches do sermons or lessons from the book of Revelation, there is a lot of focus on the mark of the beast and hardly any on the sign of God or His name written on Christian’s forehead. It’s like watching the news, or a movie or television show, the negative or bad news is heavily promoted or main force. Everyone knows 666 is the mark of the beast, but do they know what is the name of God or what the sign is? For some Christian, the New Testament is all that really matters, somehow when Jesus died on the cross the books of the Old Testament, Genesis to Malachi are not valid anymore. Genesis 1:26 says the Lord God made man and woman in His image at the time of creation. The Lord God asked the man and woman to obey Him and everlasting life would be theirs, when they trust the lies of the serpent the devil, everlasting life was gone from them, they saw they were naked, so the image of God they had was tainted because they trusted a lie. Revelation’s book tells the reader that the mark of the beast 666 will be on those who worship the beast on their forehead and hand, but the Lord wants His people to wear His words and  commandments in or on the same places.

Deuteronomy 6:5  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

Now since most people, even Christian are physically minded they are not reading or understanding the book of Revelation or any of God’s word in a spiritual way. When they read or hear about the mark of the beast, they think of physical marks, like a tattoo, bar codes, microchip, or even the COVID-19. But obedience to God or the Devil and the beast comes from a person’s desires, who they worship or who they trust to provide for them. That comes from a combination of mind and heart, the desire of the heart, drives the mind to do your will. Is it you or my will to serve God, the Devil, or just ourselves? If you are a God-fearing person now, do you worship the Lord now, do you follow His word and commandment, if so He is your God. If you don’t keep His word, if you don’t keep His commandments, cause your heart or church tell you don’t have to, if you don’t correctly worship or don’t worship incorrectly, then you already worship the beast and his mark is your heart, desire and is your will, heart and now. In the gospel, Jesus said so many times that the kingdom of heaven is here and now, worship is happening now, how you and I worship now, will increase in the final days. If you and I depend on God now, then we will not worry when we can buy or sell, Jesus will provide for us. If you or I am dependent on our jobs, government, or ourselves, We will gladly take the marks to be provided for and survive. What are the desires of your heart, what is the will of your mind, how are you living your life here and now, is the Lord your God, or are you your own god?  God bless you all, the Lord loves you and so do I, Samuel J Head.
