Psalm 23:6 My Shepherd Pursue Me Always

Psalm 23:6

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of Adonai forever.

Jesus the Good Shepherd has amazing love for His  children, (sheep), but that just doesn’t mean those who allow Him to be their Lord. The Lord loves the human races, and the scripture says God made man and women, (Genesis 1:26-27) so the children of Adam and Eve are all of God’s creation.  In some English translation of the Bible, Psalm 23 will say goodness, mercy or even kindness will either follow or pursue me.  Does God stop showing goodness and mercy after we sinned, no He doesn’t. When He made man and women in Genesis 1, they disobey His word in Genesis 3 but He goes into the garden pursuing them.

Genesis 3:8-9  Now they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?”

Genesis 3:3-9 and Psalm 23:6 tell us this, the Lord is  always offering His children goodness and mercy,  but we must not run and hide. The name for God is Psalm 23:6 in the Hebrew  Bible language is Yahweh, Jehovah , and Adonai. Those are all those proper Hebrew names  but Adonai is Hebrew meaning My Lord, just like how Psalm 23 starts, the Lord is my Shepherd, He is my and I shall have all I want. What does all of humanity want, we want a good life, mercy and kindness, if that is what humanity wants, how do we get it?

Luke 12:31-32 31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

The Lord pursuing His children with goodness and mercy can be explained best by the parable of the shepherd by leaving the 99 sheep and going to seek  one lost lonely sheep.

Matthew 18:11 “What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains, and go and search for the one that is lost? 13 And if it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that have not gone astray.

Goodness and mercy is just like grace, we are saved by it, but you and I must allow Jesus to be our Shepherd, by doing so, we will be without want and have everything we want. I know I want Jesus to my Lord, my Shepherd and my Adonai. God bless you all, the Shepherd loves you and so do I. Samuel J Head

Ezekiel 34:11  For the Lord God says this: “Behold, I Myself will search for My sheep and look after them. 12 As a shepherd cares for his flock on a day when he is among his scattered sheep, so I will care for My sheep and will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and gloomy day. 13 I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries and bring them to their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the streams, and in all the inhabited places of the land. 14 I will feed them in a good pasture, and their grazing place will be on the mountain heights of Israel. There they will lie down in a good grazing place and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.
