Psalm 22:25 A Holy Vow In Great Assembly

Psalm 22:25

I will praise you in the great assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you.

True believers and followers of God, enjoy fellowship in great assembly and give the Lord praise and worship. King David the author wrote of this and so did most the Biblical people of the holy word of God. The followers of God seem to enjoy worship with other believers of the same faith in the ancient world more than modern day Christians do. The word of God has different words for a group of worshippers and assembly is one of them others are,  congregation and convocations. Worship assembly service took place on the seventh day sabbath both in the Old and the New Testament . Many Christians may read the 4th commandment requirements as the Lord says remember the seventh day sabbath, do not work and rest on that day, (Exodus 20:8-11) and say to them, “ Oh God mean He just wants me to relax all day or sleep a little longer. Other writings of the Bible give more clarity  as to what it means to rest with God on  the sabbath.

Leviticus 23:3  ‘For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings.

The word  convocation may not be widely used anymore, but the definition of sacred words. A sabbath day for a holy convocation worship service was a day  and should still be a day all believers of the Lord God creation look forward to.  Just like King David say in Psalms 22:24, he looks forward to praise God in a great assembly and so do I. Before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown started and worship service was not allowed, or in limited groups, my spiritual was strong, but now little weak, cause can’t hear the word of God in person, and I can talk to my church family, hug and have fellowship meal together of spiritual and physical food. What does it mean to pay vows to God during a great assembly? Paying a vow in a public assembly is a wedding day, between husband and wife. In front of their family,  friends and in the USA they make vows publicly to honor, cherish, obey and love each other till death do them part, so help me God. They both say I do exchange rings  and the speaker says, “ I now pronounce.  you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride. I like how the apostle Paul writes in the New Testament that  brothers and sisters of the church should greet with a holy kiss, four times.

2 Corinthians 13:11  Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice, mend your ways, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13 All the saints greet you.

It is hard for me to understand how so many believers of God, condemn the body of Christ, they might say the church is corrupt or the church members are not exactly living by the words they preach or the word of God preaches. In my experience, those that say, only God can judge me, are usually the biggest judge of the church and the Christians’ of the church. Tupac Shakur had a rap song named “ Only God Can Judge Me” rightly so, but the lyric of the song isn’t family friendly and the lyrics of most of his songs were about violence and that is how he died, violently. I hope that I can join a physical church assembly service soon, to give praise to the God I love with brothers and sisters I love. If you need help finding assembly to worship in, let me know. God bless you all, the Bridegroom loves you and so do I. Samuel  Head.

Romans 16:16  Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you
