Proverbs 6:16-17 Vanity of Vanities, Haughty Sin

The first deadly sin the Lord hates written about between Proverbs 6:16-19 is having haughty eyes, some people may not know what that means, but it basically means to be conceited, foolish. Sometime before I became a Christian, I had a co-worker at a warehouse that distributes welding equipment. Right now I can’t remember his name, be he was a kind of arrogant guy, away bragging how great he was, at this or that, but along with that, he said he was Christians also. I wasn’t Christian at the time, but I knew bits and pieces of God’s word, and one thing I did know, God doesn’t like arrogance and not many other people do too. My co-worker idolized the WWE wrestle The Rock, who now uses his real name Dwayne Douglas Johnson. To be successful in entertainment sports like wrestling, it helps to be haughty like wrestling athletes like The Rock, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair. Growing up in the southern part of the USA, Rick Flair was and still is a famous wrestler. He is probably more well known for his haughty speech and declared himself so great, these are his quotes; “To be the man, you gotta beat the man.”, “I’m every woman’s dream and every man’s nightmare.” “Diamonds are forever and so is Ric Flair.” and most of Ric Flair’s fans can remember his famous, “ Woooooooo, “ kind of like rooster crowing to let you know it time to wake up. Just like wrestling but also in the ring is boxing Muhammad Ali ( Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. ) may be the most haughty and even nickname The Greatest boxer of all times. He has haughty quotes, like Ric Flair like; “ “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee., “I’m young; I’m handsome; I’m fast. I can’t possibly be beaten. “It’s hard to be humble when you’re as great as I am.” and “Bragging’ is when a person says something and can’t do it. I do what I say.” Winnings and success in sports, film music and even politics can a person remember able but it still a deadly sin. As a result of his boxing career and too many hits to the head, Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I remember watching the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta Georgia and Muhammad Ali was at the opening ceremony lighting the flame. It was visible Ali was suffering from Parkinson’s and needed help to light the torch when he died a newspaper article said, “ MUHAMMAD ALI, ONCE SUPERHUMAN BOXER AND SHOWMAN, DEAD AT 74, ‘ A person who has haughty eyes, is so full of pride, they look like a god in their owns eyes, and the Lord God who made them is nowhere in their sights. It is best to be meek and humble in your spirit and to know that only God is the Great I Am. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves and so do I. Samuel J H
