Proverbs 4:25-27 Eyes Like Birds of Prey
The Lord equips the animal of the world with the ability to hunt, find food, and survive in the world He created them to live in. When it comes to eyesight no animals have the vision that the eagle and the owl have. The eagle and owls are two birds of prey and their vision is very important and very unique for each in their special way. The eyeball of an eagle and human are the same size but work differently than the eyes of a human. Eagle’s eye can work both monocular and binocular vision, which means each eye can work independently or together at the same time. The eyesight of the eagle work so well it can spot its prey like a rabbit from 3 miles ahead of it. The vision of the eagle is so much better than a human, with seeing the differences like color, with its eyesight it can follow the urine trail of prey. The bald eagle is unique itself that it can spot a fish beneath the surface of the water, fly down and catch the fish. Owls do not have true eyeballs but are their eyes are tube-shaped, and are completely immobile. With their eyes shaped like tubes, the eyes work like a pair of binocular, to help it focus on its prey and know the distance it has to travel to catch it. The owl’s eyes are fixed and cannot move so the owl uses is the ability to rotate its neck to see at most angles around it. Now I and your vision are not as great as the eagle or owl and we are driven by more than hunt our daily meal. Of course, we get hungry and want to eat, not only for ourselves but provide meals for our loved ones. God has provided us with His word and just like the beginning of wisdom is fearing God, His word opens the eyes of those who bow before Him because they fear and respect Him. If you want to mount up high and fly like an eagle with wings spread wide open, trust in God’s word and keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I.
