Proverbs 3:21-26 Common Sense, Passover Plagues

Proverbs 3:21-26

21 My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, 22 for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. 23 They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble. 24 You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. 25  You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, 26 for the Lord is your security.  He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.

The beginning of wisdom starts with fearing God, those who have no respect for the knowledge of His word will have confusion, worry, and stress in their lives. Many people will say and agree it is human nature to worry at different times during our life. So if a person is worried,  concerned, or complaining  about this or that, does that person have a life that is less spiritual?During the  COVID-19 pandemic and  in politics, many  are experiencing a high level of stress and mental health is a problem also. With the recent release of the COVID-19 vaccine, many rumors out that it might be the mark of the beast, ( 666 ). People with conspiracy theories rely on rumors, like the JFK assassination, did the USA know the attack on Pearl Harbor was going to happen,  or has any American election ever been rigged? Is any of this the lack of common sense or does this show that people have wisdom and trust in the Lord? Passover is coming and I like to compare the common sense of the Israelites and the Egyptian Pharaohs. The Pharaohs were the masters and oppressors of Hebrew slaves. The Pharaoh’s children had an education and Hebrew children knew of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Lord sent 10 plagues against Egypt, each time the Egyptians were concerned and troubled. When the water was turned to blood, the Egyptians cried out we have no water for drinking or bathing, but the final plague was fear for the non-believing Pharaohs, but the Jews, had supper. The King of Egypt felt like King when the sun went down, but the people of his kingdom were crying out, cause every house had someone dead in it.

Exodus 12:29  Now it came about at midnight that the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of cattle. 30 And Pharaoh got up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was no home where there was not someone dead.

The word of God has helped me stay calm through this coronavirus but even so, I had my moments of weakness and mental health issues. I feel like an Israelite, I have the Spirit of the living God in my heart.  I pray for that effect of suffering from the creeping death throughout the world and pray for hope for my friends and family.
