Proverbs 2:7-8 The Peculiar Wisdom of Saints
The Lord gives wisdom to His saints, He helps and guides them in their walk in life and also is a shield that protects the godly ones. What is a saint? What is a godly one, that he or she, man, woman, or child will be given wisdom from God Almighty? The word saint appears in scripture, 62 times, and the first time is in the book of Psalms and it gives the Biblical definition of a saint, almost the same as Proverbs 2:8 (believers ).
Wikipedia definition of saint is a person that is close to the likeness of God, the definition can be different within many different church denominations. The Roman Catholic church, have Jesus’ mother Mary but her husband Joseph wasn’t named a saint until 1962. Before the 4th Century the Catholic church named martyrs, ( Christians killed for their faith ) into sainthood . The Protestant churches, will name all born-again Christians a saint. Saints are special people to God, and Christians have odd behavior compared to non-believers of the world. The King James Bible say the Lord calls His people peculiar, as if we are odd to the world, but we are more than peculiar but a treasure to Lord our God.
The word holy means to be set apart, different from the rest, just like at the end of the six day God was done with creation, so He stopped and rested on the seventh day and made it a holy day, a peculiar odd day apart from Sunday to Friday.
Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.
Fearing God is where wisdom begins, His Spirit teaches the believers how to walk in wisdom. His wisdom teaches His children how to find rest in His protection, from the evil one, even from our own foolish behavior from time to time. If you have a desire to learn how to fear God, and want to find wisdom in His word, ask me and I will pray and help you. God bless you all, Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel J Head.
