Proverbs 2:16-19 Avoid Her Deathtrap

Proverbs 2:16-19

16 Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman. 17 She has abandoned her husband and ignores the covenant she made before God. 18 Entering her house leads to death; it is the road to the grave. 19 The man who visits her is doomed.  He will never reach the paths of life

The woman in Proverbs 2:16-19, is not just any immoral promiscuous woman, but a married woman. She is unwise for breaking her vow against her husband and the covenant vow she made with God, to be loyal in marriage and breaking the 7th commandment. Marriage is supposed an intimate relationship between a man and a wife, it is what the Lord said in Genesis 2:18, Eve Adam’s wife was to be his help. The relationship was so intimate that when they had sex scripture says they knew each other.

Genesis 4:1  And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.

If a married woman is promiscuous, she has knowledge of too many men and she truly doesn’t love her husband, her family if she had children by her husband and  God. This is an utterly foolish woman and any man who seeks a relationship with her is foolish also. The sin of adultery does damage in many ways and hurts many people. The act of unfaithfulness, causes the marriage bed to become polluted, the husband questions if his love is good enough, the children don’t see mommy and daddy love each other anymore. If the wife is promiscuous and knows too many men,she will know his diseases and share them with her husband if he is unaware she unfaithful in the marriage. If faithfulness leads to divorce, then the children are going from parent to parent, to spend time with mom and dad who now live apart. Scripture also says this foolish act leads to death and the grave. How is that possible you might wanna know? Well, STD’s a result of unfaithfulness, or if a husband finds out his wife is unfaithful or catches her in the act, she and her foolish lover may get killed. In 1972 in Allman Brothers Band recorded a cover song, was written by a blues artist name  Elmore James, “One Way Out”. The lyric of the song says that messing with a married woman is foolish. While the woman and man are fooling around upstairs, they both hear her husband come home early. The man who is with the married woman wonders if the woman is worth the hassle, and he knows he can’t leave the house by going through the front door, cause her man is downstairs. So he tells the woman to raise the window and I am leaving that way and says  Lord, I was foolish to be here in the first place. So brothers and sister’s, if you and I want to be smart and wise, to begin with, obey your Father God’s word. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel J Head

Leviticus 20:10  ‘If there is a man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, one who commits adultery with his friend’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
