Proverbs 1:28-33 God Help Me! I Mean It !

Proverbs 1:28-33

28  “Then they will call upon me (Wisdom), but I will not answer; They will seek me eagerly but they will not find me, 29  because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord [that is, obeying Him with reverence and awe-filled respect], 30 They would not accept my counsel, and they spurned all my rebuke. 31 “Therefore they shall eat of the fruit of their own [wicked] way And be satiated with [the penalty of] their own devices. 32 “For the turning away of the naive will kill them, And the careless ease of [self-righteous] fools will destroy them. 33 “But whoever listens to me (Wisdom) will live securely and in confident trust And will be at ease, without fear or dread of evil.”

The Lord loves to hear from His children, to hear their prayers, praise of worships and He really loves it when they accept His wisdom and live by it in their actions. An atheist may only say God’s name during extreme moments, the phrase “ OMG” is popular among young people while texting and in many conversations. The word of God is fast to say the Lord answers prayers and a desire for His help, guidance, and loving mercy. One of my favorite scenes from a movie is from Ben-Hur. The main character  Ben-Hur is being taken away to be a slave of Rome, cause he was sentenced for a crime that was simply a mistake, of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ben-Hur is walking in a long line of criminals, it is a hot day, Ben-Hur slip falls to the ground and cries out, “  ‘God, help me” then the hand of a man, who most believe is the hand of Jesus, instantly gives Judah a cool drink of water, runs His hand through his hair then pours the rest of the water on Ben-Hur’s head. In the 2016 remake of Ben-Hur, when the incident happens. Judah is seen carrying a yoke like a crossbeam when He cries out, “ God, help me, “Jesus’ face is clearly seen and strokes Judah’s head and Jesus gives him some words of encouragement  “God has a plan for you.. I am not really judging anyone, but I know lots of people, who believe in God, celebrate December 25 as Jesus’ birthday and Easter to remember when He defeats death, but the rest of the year, their devotion to the Lord is almost non-existence. The only outcry for Jesus is when all else fails, their job is gone and they have no money for food or essentials like having electricity, or a love one pass-away,they will say, “ I need prayers, I need Jesus now, I need the church to help me and they will reach out to other Christian family members. As soon as the situation is better and things are back to normal, the remembrance of God or any devotions to Him is back to almost non-existence again. The Lord God knows your heart and if you really want His wisdom or just a temporary help when all your effects have failed. Of course, God answers prayers but if He knows you truly don’t love Him, why should He if you are  entirely  selfish with your love and depend on your own limited wisdom. Ask yourself, people are you are intelligent enough to make heaven and earth in six days, I don’t think so. Stop being your own god, and ask the Lord, “ God help me, Please ? ! “ and He will. God bless you all, the Lord the living water loves you and so do I. Samuel J Head

Psalm 66:18 If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear;

Isaiah 59:2 But your wrongdoings have caused a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

John 9:31  We know that God does not listen to sinners; but if someone is God-fearing and does His will, He listens to him.
