Proverbs 11:1 Weighted and Measured
A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, But a just weight is His delight.
In my hometown of Gastonia, North Carolina, there are two restaurants with curbside service. One is Black’s Barbecue and RO’s BBQ. I have eaten at both, nothing significant to me, but many people love them. When I was in high school, I was looking for a job, and I asked one of my friends what it was like working curbside at Black’s; he told me he made lots of money. I ask how he did it, he said when he took a customer’s order and bought the food out to their car, he would add a dollar to the amount, and by doing that, he would make a great deal. Jesus’ earthly ministry is in the gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, which is unique and works to God’s favor, cause these are four different witnesses Jesus existed, preach, heal, dying on the cross, and rising from the grave. One or two gospels might say something the others don’t, which is why there are four different points of view. All four gospels have the story of Jesus getting angry, throwing over the exchanging tables, and driving off the animals. Why would the Prince of Peace, Jesus, do such a thing, but the main reason. Fake religious leaders were cheating people by lying and stealing all in God’s name in God’s house. They were like my friend who was working curbside, take a little of the money for themselves, sliding a coin or two in their pockets.
The Passover event was and is worship occasion for God’s people. Many of them live in different places, would travel to Jerusalem to worship at the temple when the Passover came. Those that didn’t bring animals animals to sacrifice an offering of worship, could buy at the temple. When Jesus was at the temple, He saw the the sliding hands, the priest pocketing money for themselves and they were stealing from God and God’s people. So with righteous anger, Jesus threw the money they love all over the ground and set free the animal they were selling away, shout something like, stop stealing from My Father God,”. Many religious holidays are very profitable, and many Christian have learned to hate them. Many religious leaders have and are gaining a significant profit off preaching and teaching God’s word. It’s sad to see religious leaders drive luxurious automobiles when many don’t have transportation, have a manison with many rooms when others are homeless, and wear a fine silk suit when many wear rags. Love God and others with honesty and humbleness; if you receive a blessing for your worship, be grateful; if you have plenty, share your gifts. Jesus and His gospel is a blessing; make your life and worship a blessing to all, even to yourself. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you, and so do I, Samuel J H.
