Proverbs 10:3 What’s My Damage Daddy?

Proverbs 10:3 What’s My Damage Daddy?

Proverbs 10:3

The Lord will not allow the righteous soul to famish, But He casts away the desire of the wicked.

Once while my family was getting something to eat, I think at a Wendy’s drive-thru window, I heard my father ask the cashier, “ What’s my damage? “ I was puzzled by what he said and asked, “ Daddy, what does that mean? “ and he said, that is an old-fashioned way to say, how much to how much do I owe, and how much damage will be done to my wallet. The Lord is full of mercy, love, and kindness, many people eat somehow, someway but Proverbs 10:3 says they will not allow the righteous to go hungry but He will not give in to the desires of the wicked. A lot of people have food, then again many poor homeless, starve and go without, is this what God’s word means in Proverbs 10:3? The best way to explain is to the Lord’s  Passover supper He had with His disciples. Three years Jesus has been doing His earthly ministry, He knows His time to do what the Lamb of God came to do, die for sinners of all the world, paid for their disobedience so that whoever believes He is God’s Son, accept Him will have everlasting life, (righteousness). The Lord’s Passover supper is all four gospels and in one of Paul’s letters to the church. Jesus is having the Passover delightful meal, and He truly is the Lamb of God, so it is ironic, a  holiday that is to remember when the  Israelites were free from slavery after all the firstborn son’s of Eygpt had died, but Jesus does tell His followers to repeat the Lord’s supper to remember and honor Him.

Luke 22:19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Not all the people at the Passover meal were really followers of Jesus in their hearts and Jesus knew this but ate with them all and washed all of their feet. They all ate the same bread and drank the same wine, they all heard Jesus blessed the food, and they all heard Him say one of them would betray Him. All puzzled like I was when I heard my father ask the cashier,” What is my damage?’ Jesus said the betrayer will feel damage emotionally and spiritually, wish he had never been born.

Matthew 26:24  The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.” 25 Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, “Rabbi, is it I?” He said to him, “You have said it.”

Even when Judas asked why the betraying party, the others were still puzzled and asking, who is going to cause the damage? When Jesus said with the man who dips his bread at the same time as me. When Jesus and Judas both dip there’re and eat, Jesus told Judas, “ Go do what you quickly do.” the other disciples thought Jesus told Judas to get more bread because he controlled the group’s money, but Jesus knew Judas agreed to take payment to betray Him.

John 13:27  Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.” 28 But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him. 29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, “Buy those things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.

Luke 22:3 Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. 4 So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. 5 And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. 6 So he promised and sought an opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.

According to what my father had said the old-fashion say, “ What is my damage,’ losing money out of your wallet, Judas betrayed Jesus for gain to his wallet, a profit. But the real gain was for the true friends of Jesus. The damage is done to Jesus’ body, the bread of life, paid for sins of those who accept the true gift from Father God so that they can gain everlasting life rather than receiving the damage of death, who deny and betray Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Judas end up throw away his ill-gotten gain back to the fake religious leader who wanted to do damage to the mission of Jesus, but when Jesus rises from the dead a few days later the kingdom of heaven gain, all the children of God who believe the Jesus the Son of God can reverse the damage of death, Amen!  God bless you all, Jesus the Savior of the world loves you and so do I, Samuel.

1 Corinthians 11:26  For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again. 27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. 29 For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself. 30 That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died. 31 But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way.
