Proverbs 10:21 Pass the Gospel Bread, Please

Proverbs 10:21

The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of understanding.

The righteous, with the wisdom of God in their hearts and mind, do for others and not just themselves. According to scripture, a fool doesn’t believe in God or doubts Him, both to the Bible is the same. Jesus told Peter and his friend to leave your fishing boat, follow Him, and He will make them fisher of man. Before that time, Peter, Andrew, James, and John all used fishing to provide income for themselves to have food for themselves or feed their families.

Matthew 4:18 Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.”

Charity should be a part of a Christian’s heart, their desire is how I share the gospel of Jesus’ love. The best way it seems to do that is to feed people because life on earth needs food for energy and to survive. Between 2006 to 2007 I was not exactly run by a Methodist church behind my apartments. At first, I went there for a free meal and they let people get a second or third helping. After a while, I started to help the church with its community kitchen and they serve meals twice a week, lunch on Tuesday and supper on Thursday. I never really cooked anything but, I would hand plates of food or simply sit down, talk, and eat with the people who came for a meal. For people who couldn’t make it to the church, like the elderly or disabled, they had meals on wheels to deliver food to those hungry people. Now of course the church wanted to feed hungry people but the real goal was to let people know the church of Christ cares and give them a meal from time to time. The gospel of God is spiritual food, when I would sit with a person who enjoys their meal, I would talk to them. Most of the time since we were in a church, the talk of Jesus, God of the Bible would happen. Of all the times I volunteer myself to work at that church community kitchen, I only saw a handful of people go to church on a Sunday for worship but that was about it. There are famous old sayings or proverbs of lessons in life: you can give someone a fish and they will have enough for one meal, or you can teach someone how to fish and they can catch a tasty bass, salmon, tuna or flounder for themselves. The same is for spiritual food that the church does provide or the Bible in your house or on a website on your computer or cellphone. How hungry are you or others for God’s word, how is your knowledge of God’s word, do you wonder? If you question if your relationship with God is strong or weak. It’s a spiritual life or death situation, if you know God’s words, you will not be deceived by false prophets or their false teaching. Do you do any of sharing the good news of the Lord’s gospel, is you’re witnessing about Jesus is when you sit and say a blessing over your meal and others hear you. When it comes to your relationship with God, is it selfish or are you sharing it? God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I, Samuel J H.

1 Timothy 4:1  Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3 who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. 6 If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. 7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;
