Proverbs 10:13-14 Is God’s Music With Us

Proverbs 10:13-14

13 On the lips of the discerning, wisdom is found, But a rod is for the back of him who has no sense. 14 Wise people store up knowledge, But with the mouth of the foolish, ruin is at hand.

Christian music of all types is way more popular now than I used to be, and this just recently. My friend Nathan and I were at the Subway once having lunch. He stated he was a fan of modern Christian music that he likes the traditional hymns much better. I was just listening to what he said, cause for myself if a song about Jesus I like it. Yet, I am pretty sure there is a lot of Christian artists that are in it just for the money and fame and not really have a desire to sing songs to Jesus and give God glory. Now I was a fan of music before I became a Christain, so when I was born again, I started to fade away secular music but not all, mostly the music with foul language and foul content. I learn of  Christian music recording artists like DC Talk, FFH, Ray Boltz, Jars of Clay, Third Day, MercyMe, and Lauren Daigle. I was happy to find music that wasn’t as boring as church hymns, which I love more and more, but still, I like tunes with fun beats. When I hear someone whose music I like lifestyle is different from what God’s word says is godly are acceptable, I get disappointed. Recording artists like Ray Boltz and Jennifer Knapp come out and admit they are gay, and then Derek Webb is cheating on his wife, then he blames God and leaves behind his faith and makes foul language music. Secular artists like Katy Perry who real name is Kate Hudson, started in Christian music but left it to make more money is more honest; record a song like “ I kiss a girl, and I like it,” her fans know her faith in God is flexible. Jessica Simpson isn’t a Christian artist, but she tries to get in it, but the Christian record label told her she was too attractive and wouldn’t be taken seriously.  Christian hard rock groups  Thousand Foot Krutch and Skillet are questioned by traditional Christians, but the frontman of Skillet admits not all the music he writes should be played in church but in the same level, the tells Christian pastors and leader make your worship real and stay in the word of God, cause when pastors get caught in having love affairs outside their marriage, it discredits the pastor testimony and all the youth that follow them may see that lifestyle is acceptable. Music recording artist Justin Bieber proclaims he is running to the altar like a track star, and many questions are serious or not cause of the wild lifestyle he was living. He was dating very attractive models and another performing artist, but then said he gave up sex until he was married and now make songs, he desires a relationship with God and doesn’t wanna be judge by his past. Recently Kevin Max, the former member of DC Talk, drop a bomb on social media say he was now a gothic-hippie-socialist-jesus-freak. Some ask him are you not a Christian now, but he said no, but he now flexible say that he dislikes how the Bible is against the homosexual lifestyle and adopting what most liberal Christians say and believe the not all of God’s word should be taken as literal and the kingdom of heaven will accept all, cause God is love and simple those pages of the Bible should be overlooked. To those who are wise in God’s word, see and hear this say. Were you or did you fully love the Lord and all His teaching, to begin with, or were you just going when the going was good. The word of God gives warning that in the last days, man will be lovers of money, pleasure, lovers of self and it easy to see how society and even Christian are more flexible on how they worship or if they worship at all but does that mean, that all Christain music is good or not good cause of the singer or artist? I personally believe the same Holy Spirit that led John Newton, who was a former slave trader worker, to write “ Amazing Grace’ can give John Cooper the desire to say Jesus is all we need in the song, “ Hero” or that God love is better the wine in the music, “You’re Better than Drugs.” God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you, and so do I, Samuel H.

Ezekiel 33:31  And they come to you as people come, and sit before you as My people and hear your words, but they do not do them; for they do the lustful desires expressed by their mouth, and their heart follows their unlawful gain. 32 And behold, you are to them like a love song by one who has a beautiful voice and plays well on an instrument; for they hear your words but they do not practice them. 33 So when it comes—as it certainly will—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
