Matthew 6:31-34 A Worrying Christian Is A Hypocrite

Matthew 6:31-34

31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

The word worry is in the Holy Bible 11 times, the Wikipedia definition for worry is the thoughts, images, emotions, & actions of a negative nature. The word worry should not be a part of a Christian’s vocabulary or as a part of the Christian lifestyle. The Lord tells His people at many places in scripture do not be dismayed or afraid, cause God will never leave you, (Deuteronomy 31:8, Joshua 1:9 & Psalm 9:10, & Hebrews 13:5). If the Sermon on the Mount has a theme in Matthew Chapter 6, it is this, make your relationship with the Lord your God 100% real & not fake at all or be a hypocrite. Jesus tells His followers the difference between a Gentile & someone who seeks God’s kingdom. The word Gentile, which Jesus uses with His congregation, has a strong meaning to Jewish people listening to Jesus preach on the side of a mountain. To them, it means non-Jewish & a person who doesn’t believe in the God of Creation. But Jesus gives the true meaning to those who believe in God. Jesus says, to those who seek out God & His kingdom, that person doesn’t have to worry, cause the Lord God will give him or her food, drink & clothes.

Luke 12:31 But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.

A worrying person doesn’t not believe in God & probably never did, his or her devotion to the Lord was only available & given when every day life was good. The person had a job, food on the table, happy healthy family members & good relationships, everything a person believes a Christian lifestyle should be. Some of these Christians must not have the knowledge of God’s word or the only word they hear is during church service, therefore their relationship with Him is weak . When the Lord allowed Satan to test Job’s relationship with God & the Devil took away all Job’s possession even his seven sons & three daughters were killed, the great righteous man Job never left God & even gave Him praise & worship.

Job 1:20  Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 He said,“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away.Blessed be the name of the Lord.” 22 Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God.

Is your heart truly seeking God’s kingdom & His righteousness, or is your devotion only strong around Christmas when gifts are being exchanged, hearts are full of joy & loves, Christians & non-Christians are celebrating the spirit of giving & Jesus’  birthday. Do you have family members whose only devotion to Jesus is on Christmas, Thanksgiving & sometimes a funeral. I heard a pastor say he takes advantage of funerals, cause it is the only time some people hear a preaching. If that person has no relationship with God, that sermon will go through their ears. Make your relationship with God real & Make Him your Shepherd & you will not be in want, cause the good Shepherd gives, Amen! God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you & so do I. Sam H.

Philippians 4:6-7  Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
