Matthew 6:11 Give Thanks For Daily Bread

Matthew 6:11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.

In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus is in the middle of preaching the great sermon on the mount. He had begun to teach His followers how to pray to Father God. He has already told them to acknowledge God’s name as Holy, then ask the Lord to bring His kingdom to this world .Then In the next line He gives thanks to the Father God, for our daily bread, which only comes from the Lord. The Lord didn’t have to give the children He made instruction on how to live & have purpose & it was always available in scroll, a book with pages bound together or like nowadays on electronic devices. How many Christians give thanks for the meal they are about to receive, but don’t give thanks daily bread of His word, that helps a hungry soul feel nourished. Many people may not see the Word of God as bread or bread that gives nutrition, as Christian myself with families that say they believe in God but don’t read His word daily .

Deuteronomy 8:3 He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.

Taking in God’s word daily like a wholesome bread, can help a Christian grow in his or her spiritual relationship with Lord. A lack of it can make the same person weak, & when times get difficult & the Devil starts testing you with the Word of God, you will need the same word of God, to defeat him. Just because Satan tests you with words in scripture, doesn’t mean he uses it truthfully. Jesus is the perfect example of the true Word of God used in the correct way, rather the lies of Satan.

Luke 4:2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry. 3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” 4 And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’”

I am personally thankful I live in a country where religious freedom exists & the Holy Bible is available & can be purchased, or to bought or even given away . There must be a desperate need for God’s Word with thief, because despite the Bible saying, you shall not steal” the Holy is the Bible is the most stolen book in the world. There are 6 countries where owning the Holy Bible is dangerous & many more where it is illegal. If you have the Holy Bible available to you & say you believe in God, do yourself a favor, read it, you will thank God for it . God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you & so do I. Sam H.

Acts 2:41  So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
