Matthew 6:1 The Beatitudes of Being Real

Matthew 6:1

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.

The Sermon on the Mount began In Matthew 6, & the beatitudes of following Jesus continues. There is a lot if just verse 1 of Chapter 6 of Matthew, which set the stage of all of Matthew 6. All the World’s Stage” the famous playwright William Shakespeare said, it’s how the Lord wants you to practice your righteousness. A good Christian doesn’t do the work of the Lord, for honor, trophies, merit badges & for fame. A Christian doesn’t really spread the gospel of Christ, for the reward of heaven, they do it to show others there is blessing in serving the purpose you & was moved for. In Matthew 5:16, tell His followers let your light shine before all. A good Christian doesn’t know his or her light of shines, it something they are unaware of. The great writer of the Torah, Moses didn’t know his light shone until his light made his friend too afraid to talk or come near him, so he covered himself, to be more approachable.

Exodus 34:29 It came about when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him. 30 So when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. 31 Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers in the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them. 32 Afterward all the sons of Israel came near, and he commanded them to do everything that the Lord had spoken to him on Mount Sinai. 33 When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.

The Father God in heaven can recognize fake righteousness from  the real devotion. He hates hypocrisy & the Lord called out the rake religious leader for being hypocrites many times. In the Old Testament He called fake righteousness robbery, much like He called not paying tithe stealing from Him.

Isaiah 61:8 For I, the Lord, love justice, I hate robbery in the burnt offering; and I will faithfully give them their recompense and make an everlasting covenant with them.

Malachi 3:8  “Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings

Practicing self righteousness is stealing from the Lord, the person wants glory for themselves & cares less about giving glory to the Lord. The Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6,continues to tell how Jesus followers will have beatitudes of blessings if he or she puts the Lord first & self last. The Holy Bible tells God’s children, He will give you more if you love Him & give to Him rather than if they are fake & stealing from Him, beside how you can steal from a God who can see a greedy heart. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you & so do I. Samuel

Luke 6:23 Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets. 24 But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full. 25 Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you shall be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep. 26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way.
