Matthew 5:4 A Good Cry Is A Blessing

Matthew 5:4

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

The Sermon Jesus preached,  on the mount, Jesus told his followers, blessed are you when you mourn and  you shall be comforted. The Medical world says all need a good cry, it is beneficial for humans; physically and mentally. The word of God tells us crying is good spiritually, also. Animals don’t cry, but we humans do, and the Lord designs our tears to heal while we mourn. There are three different kinds of tears and they all benefit us, but emotional tears contain higher levels of stress hormones. When a person is mourning and  shedding. Crying helps to kill bacteria and keep the eyes clean as tears contain a fluid called lysozyme. Scripture tells us the Lord collects our tears and remember we are mourning;

Psalm 56:8 You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?

A woman named Mary felt moved by the love Jesus showed her and she wanted to show Him how grateful she was. Mary is probably the first person in scripture to recognize Jesus as Christ the anointed one; because she anointed Jesus’ head and feet with very costly perfume. The world had seen Mary as a sinner, but Jesus was touched by her devotion, He could smell and feel the costly perfume in her hair and see her on her knee wiping and kissing His free, with the perfume and emotional tears. Mary was using her hair to clean Jesus’ feet and the people who were witnessing this event, were saying, how can this man be a prophet of God, allow horrible sinners to touch Him. The Lord Jesus saw no sinner who was in mourning of her Christ. He saw a daughter of God, saying I am grateful you love me, Jesus, for who I am. Jesus gave her comfort from her mourning and  gave her peace;

Luke 7:48 Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.”49 Those who were reclining at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this man who even forgives sins?”

You  and  I recognize we are nothing without Jesus,  lead us to shed tears, cause we know we have sinned against Him. He reaches out and  I have forgiven you, now have peace. I want you to know that one of the beatitudes says if you love the Lord and  mourn, He will give you comfort, have faith in His promises. God bless you, the Lord loves you and so do I. Samuel J Head

Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken.
