Luke 19:20-23 Wasteful With Blessings

Luke 19:20-23

20 Another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I kept put away in a handkerchief; 21 for I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 He said to him, ‘By your own words I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am an exacting man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? 23 Then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?’

The nobleman was totally unhappy that his servant did nothing with the funds he had given him. The servant made the comment he was afraid of his master. As an educated person who knows how to read and write, how does a man have fear if he trusts his servant with three years of wages and tells them, use my money for business?

Luke 19:13  And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten minas and said to them, ‘Do business with this until I come back.’

Why was the servant fearful of the nobleman, did he truly know his character? He made  two statements  that don’t make sense of the nobleman’s character and I share the scripture from an English version.

Luke 19:21  I was afraid because you are a hard man to deal with, taking what isn’t yours and harvesting crops you didn’t plant.’

Now if the nobleman had true nobility, would he have taken something that wasn’t his, as the servant said, lay down something that was his. Or would he harvest crops he didn’t plant. Most of the time nobles had a lot of wealth and owned some land and allowed others to live on his land and make gardens so the village people could feed their family. If a noble man, allow you to live on his land, plant a garden on his land, all over it belongs to him cause it is on his property. So the servant was saying his master was lying to the nobleman’s face and there is no wonder the nobleman to the servant that he was just worthless. When a servant does not know his master, or makes lies that he never knew him, then he is truly worthless. Don’t be worthless, know the Lord’s desire and character and you will have the rights to His kingdom. God bless you all, the noble Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel J Head .

Job 24:24  “They are exalted a little while, then they are gone; Moreover, they are brought low and like everything gathered up; Even like the heads of grain they are cut off. 25 “Now if it is not so, who can prove me a liar,And make my speech worthless?”
