1 Samuel 1:20
Luke 19:11-14 Investment For His Kingdom

Luke 19:11-14 Investment For His Kingdom

Luke 19:11-14

11 While they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately. 12 So He said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then return. 13 And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten minas and said to them, ‘Do business with this until I come back.’ 14 But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’

Luke chapter 19 is near  the end of Jesus earthly ministry and a lot of this parable is about how Jesus wants the kingdom of heaven to be an investment. He uses the short story of a nobleman as an example of Himself. For many who don’t know what a nobleman is, the definition of such is this;  is a man of nobles, gentleman, and man of extremely high manners. A person of  nobility is a child of royalty or wealth and their parents want them to be trained to practice good behavior everywhere their child goes. Of course Jesus is a nobleman, with extreme manners and He is always representing His Father God. He came to the world as the Son of God and in this parable His is using the parable to tell His followers He is loving soon. As a nobleman His is leaving to prepare a land or distant country and He wants His servant to make investment to invite others to live in His kingdom that nobleman is gonna prepare while He is gone for a long time.

John 14:2   In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

He gives the servants a limited amount of money but it’s not cheap funds at all. The gospel of Luke 19 says the nobleman gives his servants ten mina, that is ancient Greek word for 60 units of talents coins and 10 minas is about 3 years wages and extremely lot of money. Now it is very normal for a noble business man to have trust in his servant to give him or her his own personal money to make investments, it’s more the credit it’s a honor system. As I explained early the nobleman is Jesus and the citizens who hate Him are the people of Israel. They didn’t want the Son of God to tell them they were not living by the word of God they pretend to worship, they wanted Jesus to tickle their self-righteous ears and give them a sugar coated  gospel. But a true nobleman knows His Father’s rules He has for His kingdom and the corrupt of the land don’t like any light being shown on the misbehavior. That is exactly what Jesus did, over and over.

John 1:4 In Him was life, and life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

This parable about the Lord Jesus leaving and while He is gone, He gives me and you means to make investment to help the kingdom of heaven grow as large as possible. That  is His wish for us to do, to share the gospel that there is good news in salvation and is the noble name of Jesus Christ the Son of God. God bless you all, Jesus loves you and so do I. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
