Luke 16:27-31 Let Me Be Your Friend
Crying out to father Abraham, the rich man, begged him to warn his five brothers to live their lives as greedy and selfish as himself, to avoid the torment he was currently and forever will be. Father Abraham’s reply was, the rich man’s brother already has a warning and it is the word of God, mankind has ever since creation. The message of the whole Bible is the same front to back, simply obey God’s word and have life or else death is your reward. I would like to ask you Christians reading my blogs, where is it every told disobedience was rewarded? The most famous scripture speaks of such.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
What does believing that Jesus is the Son of God, and how did the rich man know who Abraham was but not escape torment. Let’s go deeper why don’t we, if we America spend so much money every Christmas on exchanging gifts to celebrate Jesus’ birthday, who scripture calls the Prince of Peace and that Bible verse is very popular Christmas, how come the world has very little peace in it anymore. A lot of people go to the same place the rich man went, cause they can’t show love to a man who is watching him eat tasty food and wearing fancy clothes and has a roof over his head. Scripture says Abraham was saved by faith, but by his faith he did work and he was called God a friend. How does a man who calls out to father Abraham neglect to feed a hungry man and have a friend in God, and not a friend in fellow Israelite? The definition of friend in scripture is a generous man who gives gifts, just like Father God gave the world His Son as a gift of salvation.
Proverbs 19:6 Many will seek the favor of a generous man, And every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.
I would like to make a proposal, instead of saying let’s put Jesus back into Christmas, let’s put the gift of sharing and exchanging the love of Jesus 24/7 and 365 , let’s do that. If we do so, we can increase the amount of treasures in the kingdom of heaven with numerous brothers and sisters, Amen. God bless you all, the Prince of Peace loves you and so do I. James 2:22– You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
