Luke 16:22-23 Dust You Shall Return

Luke 16:22-23

Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom

No matter how much wealth the rich spent on his luxury lifestyle he couldn’t save himself from death. Sadly Lazarus was already knocking on death’s door, and died also. Many Christians believe in life after death, but the fear of death is the biggest fear of all fears. If Christian are so happy to see Jesus, why is so much money spent on medical bills, to stay alive, why are so many people sad after the death of a loved one, why are there tears at the side of gravesites at a funeral service. Maybe secretly inside the human spirit knows what scripture says about life and death, that living is better and the dead know absolutely nothing and farther more.

Ecclesiastes 9:4 For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope; surely a live dog is better than a dead lion. 5 For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten.

Many people are sad when innocent life is lost, especially small children, the human spirit knows life is precious. Light is the representative life, and darkness is death. You ever really notice that evil sin happens at night, a criminal can hide himself where there is less light. Plus have you also notice  that these recent riots and looting go on at night, if they so peaceful, why are building set on fire, destroyed, valuable items stolen, and people murder, all in the name of so-called justice, the only light in these event is street lights and the blazing fires. If we really wanna go into the debate of death and life, let’s go to the beginning. Both God and Satan gave the first people to be created the instruction of how to live and how to die. Let give the Lord’s version first; then Satan the serpent;

Genesis 2:16-17The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”

Genesis 3: 3 but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’” 4 The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die!

Let us ask ourselves a logical question: can physical beings be living and dead at the same time? Mankind is physical, the Lord is spirit, the word of God says the Lord is only one with Immortality.

1 Timothy 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Adam and Eve need to be obedient to God to have eternal life when they listen to false statements they die, and that is written in scripture that Adam’s life eventually came to an end .

Genesis 5:5  So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died.

The way to have life after death is the rest of the rich man and Lazarus parable, I hope you continue to follow me and we can study and learn together. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel Jerry Head.
