Luke 15:20-24 I Want My Father’s Forgiveness
The wayward son had an opportunity I don’t anymore, but with my earthly father, but I do have forgiveness with my heavenly Father. From my late teens and until my early twenties, my relationship with my father was rocky. I was very rebellious, disrespectful at times, sometimes I was violent and destroyed items in anger. I was an employee of my father’s business, mostly because I couldn’t get a job anywhere else. Me and my father got into a angrument and I called him a bastard, a co-worker and a friend of my father told me that he could never call his father a bastard. On my birthday I had a bad toothache and couldn’t afford to have a dentist pull it out, my dad gave me enough money to have my tooth pulled and my pain was gone. My father was a good father and boss man to his employees. On their birthday he would have exotic entertainer, come and dance and sing happy birthday. I know that seems strange to talk about in the Bible teaching blog, but I am just being honest. My last birthday gift I got from my father was a singing entertainer, but she was sexy or attractive at all. She was just a bigger woman, and she had told all of her father’s workers that I met her at a club the night before and spent the night with her. All of my co-workers and father were laughing and I was really embarrassed, but laughed with them later. Around that time a girl I was really infatuated with, was looking for someone to help her with the son she had with another man. My father didn’t like her, but let me be. One morning I came home and my dad had come home from a business trip. He asked if I was my fake girlfriend all night and I said yes, he asked if I was going to work and I said I was too tired and I was going to bed. He told me you will never amount to anything with a woman like her, and I and I said some foul words in response and went to bed. During my sleep, I thought something, and when I woke up, I saw my father dead on the floor. When I made a decision to follow Christ and be baptized. Pastor Davis came to my house and told me some guidelines to baptism and told me if there anyone I have done any wrong to, I should apologies to them and ask forgiveness. I asked him how can I say I’m sorry to my dad and get forgiveness from a dead man. He told me to give it my Father God and trust He will answer me. I trusted Pastor Davis’ words and I believe I am forgiven, there are times I wish my last words to my daddy was not “ Just leave me the hell alone,” I could have explain this Bible passage many ways, but I decide to say to you all, never let your words to your father or mother be words of bitterness, cause you never know if they are your last words to the person who gave you life.
