John 1:1-3 The Meaning Of Your Word

John 1:1-3

1, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

The gospel, according to John, starts similar to the book of Genesis. Saying, in the beginning, was the word, and the word was with God. Meaning Jesus was at the beginning with God, and saying Jesus’ name, life and creation began. Jesus is a popular name for Hebrew and Hispanic men. So God said something a little more than just “Jesus.” There is a debate about what they call Jesus and God in a new age. John chapter one, says that the word was and is Jesus, so  God used His name, for creation.  Is using God or Jesus’ name in proper Hebrew or Greek, important, or is it about what the name means in the person’s heart? Jesus would have been called Yeshua, the Hebrew way of saying Jesus but sounds like Joshua, which means salvation in Hebrew. An angel of the Lord told Joseph the soon coming Messiah Jesus, which means He will save His people. God’s word tells us the Lord has many names and, Immanuel, is one of them and the most important. 

Matthew 1:21  She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 Now all this took place so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled: 23 “Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.”

My oldest nephew, Johnny, is a messianic Jew, which is like a Christian. They only use Hebrew names to call God and Jesus, Yahweh, Elohim, or Yeshua. Johnny was very serious in his faith. He now has a girlfriend living with him and is not legally married.  I am not sure if he still keeps the Sabbath or Shabbat as much as he was. So saying Jesus’ or Yeshua’s name properly is nothing if Immanuel isn’t in the heart.

Genesis 1:2  And the earth was a formless and desolate emptiness, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.

Without using Jesus’s name in spiritual meaning, it means nothing. Without the spirit of the living God in your heart, what comes out of your mouth means nothing. The spirit of the word of Jesus will enter a formless heart, and if the person allows it, the person will become a living child of the living God. Many people sometimes make a relationship or the religion of Jesus more complicated than it is. Messianic Jews, or the Black Hebrews, are serious about saying Yahweh, Yeshua, or even names that only a severe Bible scholar would know, but are they living by the spirit of Jesus or in darkness. The only way to tell is if the person is living by the spirit of Jesus or Yeshua. If someone isn’t, then they are spiritually blind and mute. No matter what anyone says, Jesus or Yeshua’s name means anything, without the spirit of God’s love in their heart. God bless you all; Yeshua loves you, and so do I. His bondservant, Samuel. 

Mark 9:38  John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” 39 But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him, for there is no one who will perform a miracle in My name, and be able soon afterward to speak evil of Me. 40 For the one who is not against us is for us. 41 For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
