James 4:11 Sticks and Stones

James 4:11

11 Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters. The one who speaks against a brother or sister, or judges his brother or sister, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.

Speaking ill of other people isn’t acceptable behavior of a child of God, and as for myself I really could care less to be in that kind of conversation. In the holy word of God, only those who serve God receive insults. This whole idea of insulting others is just bullying, usually a bully has low self esteem and they downgrade others to make themselves feel better. If I don’t feel good about myself, then a bully will make you feel miserable so that you and them may be on equal ground or even better they will feel  taller or greater, cause the bully is feared. In the same way when a person starts to drink alcohol and feels a little high  in confidence  like the old Travis Tritt song, “10 Foot Tall and Bulletproof” they feel unstoppable and fight anyone in their presence. As children of God, our words should be filled with love, and not just for those like us Christians , but all people around us. If any harsh words came out of a righteous people in the holy word, it was  called someone a false teacher of scripture.

 Matthew 3:7  But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore produce fruit consistent with repentance;

Matthew 23:29  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, 30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’ 31 “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt. 33 Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?

The fake religious leader during the time of John the Baptist and Christ earthly ministry, were real bullies. They accuse Jesus of being the son of the devil and a blasphemer. Just like bullies, they downgraded the people they were supposed to teach the word of God to. Sure they taught Yahweh is the God of love, but they practice more self love and less love for God’s people they were supposed to minister to. It really saddens me when I  hear people who say they love God, and worship Him trash talk another individual, and I am guilty of it myself.  Why don’t we try this brothers and sisters, if we have enough breath in us to speak ill against someone, let use that breath to show them love and pray to God for them. God bless you all, the Lord Creator of all loves you and so do I. Samuel H.

Ephesians 4:29  Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear. 30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 All bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and slander must be removed from you, along with all malice.
