James 1:19-21 Anger Leads To Hate, Sin Then Suffering

James 1:19-21

19 You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; 20 for a man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

George Lucas got a lot of ideas for the Star Wars movies from the Holy Bible.  The main reason I used the story of Star Wars to explain James 1:19-21, is because anger can lead the heroes and warriors of Star Wars   the Jedi  Order. A Jedi is supposed to have a high moral value system driven to power of force , to have detachments of emotions, which is essential to enlightenment. A Jedi has a major role to serve and protect others, and to have a life of no acts of selfishness. A Jedi denounces any emotions that lead to mortal suffering, these emotions are fear, anger, and oddly love. Having any of these emotions they believe can cause a person to lash out and have conflict and have a negative outcome or lead to a life being driven by the dark side of the force. The word of God says that nothing good can come from mankind who is quick to react in anger. God and mankind are very far apart and different, the Lord comes to anger slowly, just like James 1:19 asks us brothers and sisters to do. The anger of mankind can be different cause he is flesh, and his reaction is very different. Jesus says in the gospel if a person slaps your hits, your right cheek turns the other and let them smack the other cheek. Let me tell you brothers and sister, I may be a man of God, but because of sinful nature if a person was to smack my face very hard, my sinful human reaction would be to smack them back with equal and opposite reaction. In my pass that did happen and I didn’t react as I just said, one day I was at a place called Adventure House. I was minding my own business and the guy I used to laugh with came and hit me hard in the face and I was in a state of shock and wanted to know what just happened. The staff of Adventure House had the guy sent home for three days and when he returned he apologized. He told me he was upset at me, cause I gave him a funny look the day before and now thinking back I wish we had a mask for our faces back then . Now my old friend had let anger enter his heart, but he was fast to it, he was actually slow, but he thought about it all remaining day and that very next morning then he acted on his anger and committed an act violence, but what does scripture say about sin, anger and the devil?

Ephesians 4:25  Therefore, ridding yourselves of falsehood, speak truth to each one of you with his neighbor, because we are parts of one another. 26 Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.

The act of anger, gives the devil permission to stick his desire in your heart to get revenge. The act of revenge is an action that the Lord says is His and His alone. If a human being wants nothing but revenge for a wrongful act and he or she acts on the desire to get vengeance, that individual made themself their own god, cause says many times vengeance belongs to God and God alone. God bless you all, the Prince of Peace loves you and so do I. Samuel H.

1 Samuel 24:12  May the Lord judge between you and me, and may the Lord take vengeance on you for me; but my hand shall not be against you. 13 As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Out of the wicked comes wickedness’; but my hand shall not be against you.
