Galatians 5:22 The Fruit of the Spirit is Patience

Galatians 5:22

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Unlike the other fruits of the Spirits, the word Patience isn’t in Scripture much, only twenty times. But the act of Patience exists a great deal. Patience according to world had three different definitions;

Noun

1.the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.

2. an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay:

3. quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence:

What is the Holy Bible definition of peace? The first the word Patience is written the writer King Solomon says Patience is being fast and haughtiness, and he should know, cause the Lord gave Solomon more wisdom than any man.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 The end of a matter is better than its beginning; Patience of spirit is better than.

Of course King Solomon knew patience is better then being haughty or just real fast & demanding everything here & now. There are and examples from scripture were someone or people had no patience and something no good came from it. In the Book of Exodus chapter 32, is a good story of God’s people being inpatient & the suffering that comes from. The former Hebrew slaves & followed Moses from Egypt and they all heard how God was gonna give them a land flowing with milk and honey. While Moses the deliverer, who God had sent as an instrument to set Israel free. They had trust in Moses more than the Lord & their patience was tested when he was gone and away from them for a very long time, longer than a month, so they made this statement;

Exodus 32:1  Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled about Aaron and said to him, “Come, make us a god who will go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

 Moses was done with having receiving the two tablets of stone with the Commandments of God written on them, the Lord had told Moses He heard noise the Israelite putting of was sin and they were disobey one the commandments written by God’s finger,

Exodus 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.

As Moses made his way down the mountain, the noise of sin got louder & when he finally  saw them & became completely angry. In the impatience ways, he had saw them worshipping a golden calf that did set them free of slavery. It was an empty image of a god that they had seen and saw their Egyptian worshiping. The Egyptians were haughty spirit people ,  their Hebrews slaves wanted a physically touchable god also, so they made one. So Moses in his anger, threw the tablets with God’s ten commandments on the mountain ground and they broke into many pieces. Then Moses divided the Israelite into two groups of people, those who were patient enough and worship the true God, Moses allowed those people to live. Those who haughty Moses ordered they be put to death & three thousand people died that day, that is kinda harsh for impatient people. Patience is virtue and scripture repeats that good things come to those who wait on God to fulfill His promise rather than provide it for ourselves. Comparing the virtues of a patient farmer  ,that by waiting for his crop to produce fruit and vegetable to that of the faithful Christian waiting patiently for the return of our Lord;

James 5:7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains.8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.

The Scripture tells us we should be like the Lord & He is full of patience & longsuffering, He is very patient & has always desire to bring us home & spend forever together forever without living in a world of death & sin. He is very patient & waiting for many people to turn to Him. It is best or us as God’s children to have His characteristics. God bless you all, The Lord God loves you & so do I. Amen! Samuel H

1 Peter 2:20 For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.
