Galatians 5:22 Be Fruitful and Multiply

Galatians 5:22

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

The word love is in God’s word about 479 times; many Christians and non-Christians know the verse; John 3:16; for God so loved the world. The word first appears in the Holy Bible in Genesis 22:2, and the Lord tests Abraham’s loyalty to Him. Asking Abraham, sacrifice your son as means of worship to Your God,” God said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will show you.” I was in second grade when I first had a crush on a girl in my class, but I could barely remember her name. I passed a note to her, will be my girlfriend, with two checkboxes. She passed it back with yes, checked. At Southwest Junior High, I saw a pretty blond girl. I knew I had seen her the previous summer at Lineberger Park Pool. I wanted to date her, and finding out we went to the same school gave me a better chance. I learned her name was Belinda Inman. I told my father I love a girl at my school named Belinda Inman, and he could help me get a gift to show her I like her. The following day, during recess, I saw Belinda holding a teddy bear that was much larger than herself. She walked to me and said thanks for the teddy. It was sweet so am I, but she has a boyfriend. If I remember anything from it, my dad loved me so much that he wanted to help me try to win Belinda’s heart.  God made all life have a loving spirit at the beginning of creation. The God of love gave the animals of the water, air, and sky a command to be fruitful and multiply. The God of love gave Adam and Eve the same loving command. The Lord did this so the world would be full of love that keeps giving life.

Genesis 1:21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moved, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day. 24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

The animal kingdom, unlike mankind, still follows the laws of nature; males and females of all species still mate to produce offspring. Male birds like cardinals, robins, and even peacocks have more attractive feathers than females. The male birds use the colorful feathers to win female birds’ attention, mate, and later baby birds hatch from eggs. Other animals, such as  lions, tigers, and bears, oh my,  use the sense of smell to attract the opposite sex, for mating, and to be fruitful and multiply. Animals like rams combat other males for the right to mate with female sheep. Whales have the most impressive mating ritual heard throughout the deep ocean. The sense of smell does not carry so far underwater, but the sound does. Giant whales such as the Blue, Fin, and Humpback make noises that sound like musical songs. The humpback and blue whale songs are the most complex in the animal kingdom. Some suggest that humpbacks use songs to communicate their male fitness to female whales.

Whale songs can be heard from a great distance all over the ocean, so the need to give and receive love is also a great desire for the animal kingdom. Once a child of God has submitted to His will, His Spirit baptizes them with fruity spiritual gifts. The spiritual gift of love helps Christians love others as God’s word commands us to. My stepfather Richie Bridges told me all people have attributes of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, and self-control; that is written about in Galatians 5:22-23. The Holy Spirit amplifies emotional attributes, transforming that person more and more to be a child of the loving God. A Christian needs to strengthen the gift of love to love, especially those who are difficult to love or who don’t love anyone. This is how we love others as we love God and ourselves. This is also how we turn the other cheek when assaulted or ignore hurtful and insulting words. All this happened to the Lord Jesus, and He asked that His Father forgive them and us, for we did not know what we were truly doing. The Holy Spirit of God gives us this gift when we allow Him so that everyone will know us by our Christian love.

Matthew 5:46  For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Even the tax collectors, do they not do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Even the Gentiles, do they not do the same? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

The fruits of the Spirit are like spiritual gifts, such as the gift of tongues, prophecy, preaching, healing, or teaching. Both spiritual and fruity gifts serve the same purpose to edify the body of Christ. The fruity spiritual gift of love helps a child of God love others as they should love God and themselves. Hate doesn’t exist in the heart of God, and hatred should not exist in the heart and soul of Christians. A hateful person will not make it to the kingdom of heaven. When Christians love as the Lord God does, they are fruitful and help multiply the kingdom of heaven because they show and tell others they serve and worship a loving God. Learn to live in holy matrimony with God and all mankind, and allow the Holy Spirit to give you a fruity gift of love. God bless you all; Jesus loves you, and so do I, His loving bondservant Samuel Jerry Head.

Proverbs 8:17 I love those who love me; and those who diligently seek me will find me. 18 Riches and honor are with me, Enduring wealth and righteousness. 19 My fruit is better than gold, even pure gold, and my yield better than choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of justice, 21 To endow those who love me with wealth, That I may fill their treasuries. 22 “The Lord created me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. 23 From eternity I was established, From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth.
