Galatians 5:16-18 Walk By the Spirit

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

What does it mean to walk by the Spirit & to not carry out the desires of the flesh? I know in my personal life, I won’t lie to you all, my walk in the Spirit can get distracted by the desires of my flesh. I was in conversation with a man I met on Facebook. He said in a post, that he was a Christian, cross-dresser & bi-sexual, so i sent him a message & said, “have you ever read John 8?” A little while later he replied & said yes, that is the story where the woman was caught in adultery, & I said that is John 8, then he said what about it. Then I asked him if he remembered what Jesus told the woman, after she forgiven & escaped judgment, & he said, no. So I quoted him, what Jesus said;

John 8:11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.”

To walk by the Spirit means to go & sin no more, not a little less, but it is very hard living in the fleshy bodies, especially for your truly. It is only by the Spirit of God living inside my heart that lets me know, that there is a struggle between flesh & spirit. The time I spend in the word of God & in worship & witnessing to others helps my spiritual desires, but other times I am weak. Jesus tells me & all His followers who are weak, He will send a helper, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will teach me the words of the Lord Jesus.

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

My brother in Christ Paul, was telling me last week, that I may never know who receives blessing, from the devotional I prepare & send out. I had told him, I mostly do it for myself, it keeps my nose in the Scripture & I teach others what the Holy Spirit teaches me. I enjoy it. I feel like it is my job, the Lord Jesus gave me.
