Acts 2:1-7

1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.2 And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.5 Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language. 7 They were amazed and astonished, saying, “Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

When the disciples came together in one place, they were all in the same heart  & mind to spread the Gospel & teach others the good news. This happened during the Feast of Pentecost or Feast of Weeks or Harvest, it was celebrated on the fiftieth day after Passover. It is almost like a Hebrew Thanksgiving. But Acts 2:1-7 determines how the power of followers of worship, & devotion to grain souls for the kingdom of God, will do those who want to fill that Christ like hole,  in his or her heart. The Holy Spirit, made a movement began, & the power of God which is fire;

Deuteronomy 4:24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

When the disciples who preached in their tongues (scripture minds language), the crowd of Jewish people who came to Jerusalem, who had traveled from miles away, to celebrate  Pentecost. The Gift of tongues is more about hearing the word of God, when the speaker doesn’t speak your native language & the Holy Spirit what you hear clearly is the gospel. Many people who believe, evidence of being saved is speaking a unknown or heavenly language, haven’t read, the Gift of tongues is for witnessing to unbelievers & scripture says so;

1 Corinthians 14:22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe.

The crowd of Jews were of  different tongues (languages) they were bewildered . they thought the disciples were stone drunk, but scriptures say it is better filled with the spirit, then  drunk. I have been to places of worship, where people are acting like drunks speaking Babylon which really confuse & worship dancing  like they are out.

1 Corinthians 14:23 Therefore if the whole church assembles together and all speak in tongues, and ungifted men or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are mad?

When we as Christians make effort & prayer  for God use us as instruments for evangelism, the Holy Spirit will make every way possible, even if there many different people with different languages around you . God bless you all, Scripture inspired by the Holy Spirit, devotional by Sam H.

Ephesians 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
