Acts 10:44-48 Growing with the Holy Spirit Help
Acts 10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered, “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.
Between 2008 to 2009 I was working at Adventhome, it was a school for at-risk boys with ADHD, ADD, or any behavioral problems. I saw the help wanted paper at church, I immediately called & said I need a job & the director ask me, how I would react, if a boy got in my face, & I think I will be fine, so I was hired. I thought , I’m finally gonna get paid for working for God, & this is gonna be a Christian paradise. Little did I know, that on my first day of work, & listening to the boys swear so much, the extremely long hours of work, i learned, that my Christian paradise, was really was like, was like Jacob wrestling with God in (Genesis 32:24-25.) A few times a years, the school would invite boys families, it would be a weekend of worship & parents would learn about, the progress of their son. I was personally amazed how some boys behavior would improve & some would stay the same, but in this passage all of people were transformed by Peter’s speaking. I can’t wait to be in Heaven & to hear so many champions of faith give his/her testimony, but maybe I wanna hear Peter speak, so I can be amazed like Jews & Gentiles at the worship service here in; Acts 10:44-45, do you have a champion of faith you wanna hear preach? God bless you all, devotional sent by Sam H.
