James 1:12 Blessing For Endurance

Crown of Life

James 1:12

12 Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

I can’t speak from a woman’s point of view, to know how to deal with  enduring  testing and temptation. I know for most men and speaking for myself, I love how God made women so beautiful. There is more than physical appearance that makes a woman beautiful, a charming personality can catch a man’s heart in the long run. Once I wish I didn’t have eyesight so that my head wouldn’t turn my head and be tempted by one of God’s most beautiful creations. Years ago i attended a weekend Men’s retreat, and blind man was delivery  speech, and he told the crowd of men, that even he committed the act of fornication and adultery, with a beautiful woman, so I guess eyesight and vision isn’t everything a man of flesh and blood can be tempted by. There is Christian recording artist I like very much, but he never got a lot of fame so only did  four albums, one Christmas album, his name is Todd Agnew. He wrote and song very thought provoking songs and he is the only Christian artist to have had a song censored for Christian radio, for his song, “ ” If You wanted me “ goes good with James 1:12. One  groups lyric really grabs my attention and makes wonder and this is it, “

I’ll admit I’m glad I’m not King David, Ruling over everything I see Cause I think I’ve fallen for more than Bathsheba, Your creation’s a temptation for me,  If you wanted me to love you only, Why’d you make the moonlight sparkle in her eyes?

If you know the story of King David and his temptation over Bathsheba, he really wasn’t tempted by a sparkle in her eye, but by turning his head and seeing her  taking a bath. David did give into temptation for all of those with Bible knowledge to know or who heard it in church, paid for it, with the death of his son, but God forgave David. David was promised a place in paradise so a crown of life is his, to have and wear in the kingdom of heaven. King David wasn’t the only who failed into temptation,  Samson who was very strong with muscles but very weak at the beautiful vision of women, but he is written as a champion of faith in Hebrews 11.

Hebrews 11:31  By faith the prostitute Rahab did not perish along with those who were disobedient, after she had welcomed the spies in peace. 32 And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, 33 who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions,

Think about my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, Hebrews 11:31-33 has three champions of faith who gave into temptation or who sold it, but all written about as having righteousness and have obtained a promise. I know my eyes wonder and I won’t lie, I burn with passion sometimes like the apostle wrote about and I repent many times. I am not as bad as King David to take a married woman and have her husband killed, just to make her my own wife, but God said David was a man after His own heart. Am I a man after my own heart and are you a person after God’s own heart. When I read the word of God from front to back, I can say yes I am and so are you. God bless you all, Christ the Redeemer loves you and so do I. Samuel H

Hebrews 11:39 And all of these, though they gained [divine] approval through their faith, did not receive [the fulfillment of] what was promised, 40 because God had us in mind and had something better for us, so that they [these men and women of authentic faith] would not be made perfect [that is, completed in Him] apart from us.
