Luke 15:31-32 Father You Lavish Your Love On Us

Luke 15:31-32

31 And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’”

This prodigal son parables is so much about our loving Father God, our wayward desires to as we see fit and the older son who wants a recognition for all his devotions. The word prodigal means wasteful, lavish , reckless, and just completely irresponsible with what is given to us. Everything we have has been even to us by our Father God, and I don’t know about you but I have been pretty wasteful and reckless with what God gave me. The money He gives me, I waste, the times He gives me I wastes, the love He gives me from Himself or from family or friends and even from a random stranger I waste recklessly. But when I come to sense and remember the love of my Father, I say to myself, I will not do without even if I am just a humble servant under His rule. I am not the only one that is being reckless or acting lavish or am I? I love Christian music and most times I love a song that isn’t very well known on the Christian music radio. I heard a accidently heard a tune  by Big Daddy Weave and Francesca Battistelli and it is titled “Lavish.” The lyric of the song is basically Psalm 23, but the chorus is this, “ And the banner that’s over me Is the love that has set me free ‘Cause You lavish Your love You lavish Your love on me And Your love conquers all my fear Because Jesus You’re always near ‘Cause You lavish Your love You lavish Your love on me,”  Both parties play extreme roles in this parable, the wayward son was call the  Prodigal, cause he wish his father was dead when ask for a inheritance he would receive when his father die. He was reckless with a large amount of money his father gave him and he was broke in a matter of no time. When the boy returned to  his father he wasn’t being reckless, but giving his son love and an amazing gift just being lavish. The definition of lavish is an extreme measure and options of prodigal; instead reckless with wealth,  sumptuously rich, elaborate, or luxurious. So all in all, the wayward  son left his father’s house with lavish wealth, and became a prodigal. Came back home, asked forgiveness and became luxurious lavishly wealthy again. Imagine this, when the father told his elder son rejoice, your brother was once dead but not alive again and now is found again, he went from being dead broke to lavishly wealthy again.
