Luke 10:30-37 Practice the Love of God to Your Neighbor
Luke 10:30-37
Jesus’ parable of the good Samaritan is supposed to teach a Christian, how the Lord wants His followers to love their neighbor just like we love ourselves. A lot of people love themselves and want to be treated with love and respect, but there are people in the crowd that hate themselves . My job as a residential care at troubled boy teen group, I saw a few kinds of people. The kind boys outnumber the cruel boys, but one boy I can never forget. One night was about to get off duty, as a young boy punched his noses at full strength, and caused his nose to bleed. I was kinda shocked, never seen this behavior before, I said, “Stephen, what is wrong with you?” & he said, “ I hate myself and I wanna talk to Miss Yo, “It took me awhile to get a hold of her, and she finally came. I sat there with them as they talked and she told me I could go, she could handle this. If a boy like Stephen can truly hate himself enough to punch his nose and make it bleed, it is easy to see how some people can easily hurt each other. In this short story that teaches who our neighbor is, Jesus uses two men , a priest and a Levite , who were supposed to know God’s word very well, but both clearly showed they never learned what they learned and taught. Jesus used a Samaritan man’s action, as to show, anyone can show how to love our neighbor, and practice what the Lord teaches. The Samaritan was a race of people, the Jewish people who Jesus was teaching the people to listen to His short story, really hated and would never occupy the same space with them. The Samaritans knew the Jews hated them, so they loved out to themselves, but they knew the word of God.
John 4:7 There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Therefore the Samaritan woman *said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
Jesus the Son of God, demonstrate in John 4, He had no problem asking a Samaritan woman woman for a drink of water, and He also had no problem, tell the Hebrews, you don’t have to be a Israelite to show the love of God, to love your neighbor. Two teachers of God’s law (priest and Levite ) of God’s law walk past the victim of robbery, who was lying naked and badly beaten, left for dead and did absolutely nothing. The Samaritan, an outcast man who the Jews hated, stopped and packed the guy’s wounds up, gave the thirty man some juicy wine, and carried him to a hotel and paid for his room. The next day the Samaritan went back to the hotel and told the innkeeper,”Whatever it takes and whatever it costs, take care of the man, I will repay when I see you next again. “ Now this outcast race of man to the Jews, shows more of God’s love and mercy to neighbor more than a priest and Levite, whose main occupation was to preach and teach, how great YHWH, the God of Love is. Ask yourself this and let’s ask the Christian world, is the love for our neighbor increasing, this is how Jesus asks us to be, and this is how the love of God is practiced and seen. Our Father God is not visible on earth, but if we call ourselves sons and daughters of God, should we treat others as our brothers or sisters. Can you see the love of God decreasing as a young boy is shot for being in the wrong place at the wrong time,or people cause riots and steal items for events they say happened hundreds years ago. Then those same people burn the Word of God out of protest, cause somehow the word of God is related to oppression, The real oppression, is the God’s love is being neglected and hate the revenge of the Devil that desire is being practiced more. I say bring it on, prophecy predicts, love will decrease and hate will increase before the Judgment of the world and the second coming of Christ. Let them have their riots, murder people who say all lives matter , and burning the Bible, it bring Judgment day soon, and all the followers of Satan will be put to a end, with their god of hate, but pray they repent and let them see how foolish they are behaving. The God of Love, love you and so do I. Samuel H.
Zechariah 8:16 These are the things you shall do: Speak each man the truth to his neighbor; give judgment in your gates for truth, justice, and peace; 17 Let none of you think evil in your heart against your neighbor; And do not love a false oath. For all these are things that I hate,’ Says the Lord.” 18 Then the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,
