Galatians 3:15-18 Hearing the Shepherd’s Call and God’s Promise

Galatians 3:15-18

 15 Brethren, I speak in terms of human relations: even though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been ratified, no one sets it aside or adds conditions to it. 16 Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ. 17 What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise. 18 For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise.

The last of the three religions that are linked to Abraham as a founder of the faith is Christianity. Now both Christianity and Judaism  proclaim the true seed of Abraham was his son Isaac but his true wife Sarah, but where they part is the Christian believes Jesus is the promise seed from the bloodline of Isaac from his father Abraham. But was following the Lord and the Good Shepherd all about DNA and about bloodline. The son of Abraham and his grandson had sons who were not godly all the time but they had Abraham and Sarah’s blood in their veins. But that doesn’t determine how a person behaves. The Jewish nation  found in their pride themselves in their  sacrifices to use the blood of innocent animals to pay for their sins. The Word of God said several times, don’t give me your worship as a sacrifice if you keep being disobedient.

1 Samuel 15:22 Samuel said, “Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

Is hearing the voice of the Lord physical, is to obey God’s word physical. Jesus said told us the Good Shepherd parable from John chapter 10 , His sheep know the voice of the Shepherd, the book of Psalm also say you are the Lord’s sheep if you hear God’s voice;

Psalm 95:7 For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice,

If you wanna have the Lord as your Good Shepherd, what does me to have true sacrifice of worship, and hearing the word of God? The Bible is the perfect place to get the answer.

James 1:22  But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.

Does a person who accept Jesus as the seed promise to Abraham have to be Christian or Jew, or even Muslim? In the beginning of the church , many believers of Christ’s teaching who gathered together were called Jews or Gentiles  and that is written in many parts of the book of Acts. Even so, sometimes bad apples put themselves in with the worshipers of Jesus, they were called unbelieving Jews. Maybe in a world where many people label themselves as Christians, cause they say they believe. Could someone look at our behavior and say, are you kidding me your actions don’t look like or sound like the voice of God’s word. God bless you all, the Lord loves you and so do I. Samuel H

Acts 14:1 Now it happened in Iconium that they went together to the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of the Jews and of the Greeks believed. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren. 3 Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
