John 1:15-16

15 John testified about Him and called out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who is coming after me has proved to be my superior because He existed before me.’” 16 For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

One thing I like to do other than study scripture studies famous people’s quotes. Mark Twain, the famous American author, ideas, and thoughts on death, are funny. He quoted, “I do not fear death because for billions of years before I was born; I did not know what existing or what living felt like”. A neat idea indeed. Why fear nothing, which scripture says death is knowing nothing?

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor do they have a reward any longer, for their memory is forgotten. 6 Indeed their love, their hate, and their zeal have already perished, and they will no longer have a share in all that is done under the sun.

Once again, John chapter 1, is talking about when Jesus existed, when Jesus was the word, and how He was always the word. John the Baptist, peaches this as his testimony, saying before I was born, Jesus the Word of God existed. The Christian world celebrates December 25^th, because they believe it is the birthday of Christ, but there is no Biblical evidence He was. There is even more biblical proof, Jesus existed, before December 25, because the Great I Am, has no beginning.

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: 16 for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

The word of God says many times, Jesus existed before the foundation of the world (Proverbs 8:29, Zechariah 12:1, Hebrews 1:10, and Revelation 22:13). John the Baptist’s mother Elizabeth conceived him and was already six months pregnant when an angel of God told Mary she would conceive the Messiah.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Mark Twain did not know what living was like until he was born, which was on November 30, 1835. Now that Mark Twain is dead, he knows nothing, because Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the dead know nothing, go ahead, ask him, and see what he says about it. To a Hebrew woman, it is a gift from God, to be a mother. When the Spirit of God put a baby inside Elizabeth’s womb, her life as motherhood began. I was living a life before I met Jesus; I knew who Jesus was, but did I really? When I saw my life had no purpose, I ask Jesus into my heart. So now I testify like John the Baptist, telling others, give your life to Jesus, let Him show you the meaning of life. Jesus existed before me, but when I see He is a true meaning for my existence, my heart rejoices. My body, heart, and soul were like Genesis chapter 1. My body had formed, but my life was formless. My purpose in living was dark because I had no direction, so I ask God, please show me how to live. The Lord said let there be light, and now I know Jesus is the reason, not just for the season, but for all my life. I wake up in the morning; I am ready to serve the Lord. As I live my life, I teach, preach, and testify who Jesus is. If your life feels dead and meaningless, hey, why not give the giver of life and chance, what have you got to lose? My job is and so should every child of God be to testify to the world, give your life to the Lord, and by His grace, you will learn who you really are. 1 John 1:1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life — 2 and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us—3 what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. 5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all.
