Proverbs 10:16 A Matter Of Life and Death

Proverbs 10:16

The wages of the righteous are life, but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death.

The giver of life God gives a reward how to honor the gift of living He gave you and me. He made all life to give Him love and praise, think you, Lord, for loving me so much to give me life. Now the Lord isn’t a puppet master and He didn’t make us like robots, to serve Him with force, so He says you can serve Me had to gain life otherwise death will be your reward. For many, living a life that is self-serving and doing whatever makes us happy is enough. But if the Lord made to self and love Him, then there is a spiritual part of us. It is what some call a god-shaped hole in our hearts. If Proverbs 10:16 seems familiar it says what different, like John 3:16 and Romans 6:23.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If obeying God gives life and disobeying Him gives death and each other them exist at once as a reward from God. In modern-day Christianity or in how some churches teach or how come Christians believe, somehow life will continue, either everlasting in heaven or hell. But if the wages of sin is death, why would the soul of a disobedient person be burning forever while alive in hell, I mean overall that is still living. On another level, if death is the reward for disobedience is Adam and Eve still alive, or are dead? God gave them instruction on how to maintain life. Obey Me, eat of the tree of life,  the Lord told the first man, and you will have life, disobey and death is your reward. The devil comes along and told Eve, the Lord is lying, He doesn’t want you to eat, cause He knows you will be like Him, feeding her some desire to be like God.

Genesis 2:16  The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for on the day that you eat from it you will certainly die.-Genesis 3:4  The serpent said to the woman, “You certainly will not die! 5 For God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will become like God, knowing good and evil.”

Scripture says, the Lord cannot lie and the devil is the father of all lies,  surely if Adam and Eve were obedient, they still are alive and graveyards would not exist. Funerals would not be an event we don’t want to go to and hospital visits would not exist but they do. So if we are wise in God’s word, we should surely accept believing in God and obeying Him give life, and disobeying Him means death and a person cannot be living and death at the same time.

Psalm 115:16 The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, But the earth He has given to the sons of mankind. 17 The dead do not praise the Lord, Nor do any who go down into silence; 18 But as for us, we will bless the Lord From this time and forever. Praise the Lord!

As a man who uses social media a lot, many teach that self-love is important and there are tv and radio ads that say, do what makes you happy or feel good. Of course, the world wants to tell you and me, to love yourself more the God. For those who love God and live their lives by doing as His word says, everlasting life is their reward. Those who live by doing what is right their own eyes, the earthly life they live is it, death, everlasting death is their reward. Will you deny the gift God offers, which is life, or will you reject Him and be happy with everlasting death. If you have questions about how or what to do, let me know, God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I, Samuel J H.

1 Corinthians 15:20  But the fact is, Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21 For since by a man death came, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ, all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming,
