Proverbs 1:20-23 She Cries Out Wisdom
During the Medieval period of Europe, it is called such because it was a dark and depressed time. The Roman empire failed, so not ruling power to keep order, education didn’t really exist so illiteracy was all over. It was also a time of diseases and plagues like black death. A dark age, where famine and people struggle to have food to eat and the people were highly superstitious so many people were killed. Believing they were witches. The word of God was suppressed, the most powerful Christian church at the time. The Roman Catholics had the Bible only written in Latin, and they mixed traditions with God’s word and the people who really want to know Jesus, trusted every word these fake religious leaders preached. Wisdom of God was given to an unlikely person, Jeanne d’Arc who the world knows as Joan of Arc (1412 – 30 May 1431). The Hundred Year’s War ( 1337 to 1453 ) was a series of conflicts over who ruled over French, mostly between England and French. At the age 13 Joan said she heard a divine voice and it told her to help Charles VII, heir of Charles VI, be named the rightful king of France. At the age of 16 Joan went before Charles and convinced him, of what the divine voice told her, her statement to Charles was this, “ yet must I go and must I do this thing, for my Lord wills that I do so.” The wisdom that comes from God, the impossible will be made possible, when you have 100% trust in His word and do as He says, it will come to pass.
Luke 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Because Joan of Arc had 100% confidence in God’s voice and Charles was convinced by her belief and was allowed to lead the French into battle. After years of losing battle after battle, with Joan in control and her trust in God, there were now victory after victory. When the English learned they were losing battles to a woman dressed in a man’s armor, they felt embarrassed and were convinced she was a demon. When France gained victory and Charles VI became King, but sadly Joan was captured by the English. She was accused of being a heretic and a cross dresser because she wore battle armor. She was then executed by burning her at the stake, but her body was burned a few times to reduce it to ashes so no remains of her were left. Joan of Arc has amazing quotes that prove she really fears the Lord and trusts in Him, “ If I said that God did not send me, I should condemn myself; truly God did send me.” and “ I would rather die than do something which I know to be a sin, or to be against God’s will.” With the wisdom of God, the Lord can take anyone, even a simple peasant girl .
