James 4:7-8 He Desires the Sacrifice of Loyalty

James 4:7-8

7 Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

If you want a closer walk with God you and I will have to complete bond-servants of the Lord. In the Old Testament animal sacrifice is what the Lord required for the payment of sin, but why did God ask for innocent animals to be killed for the payment of sins. The institution for animal sacrifice and the ritual was to show the sinner, just how gruesome, messy and sick sin is. Because of my youth and reading Stephen King and Anna Rice’s novel I can handle reading gross details of animal sacrifice in the Old Testament, but my mom can’t handle that, she can’t even watch the screens of the 2004 movie  The Passion of Christ.” It seems the ancient Israelites got to use the bloody screen of bulls, rams and goats being cut open, organs removed and blood just being splashed at different places of the ancient Hebrew temple. The Lord never really wanted the institution of sacrifice more than wanted obedience to His word to be practiced.

Hosea 6:5 Therefore I have cut them in pieces by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth; And the judgments on you are like the light that shines.6 For I desire loyalty rather than sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.7 But like Adam they have violated the covenant; There they have dealt treacherously with Me.

Loyalty to God by keeping and obeying His word. is what He desires, this is how a Christian submits to the Lord.  This is also what makes Satan flee from me and you. When a Christian looks like obeys God more like a follower says they will when they make a vow to Him, they will reflect the image of God more. The less a Christian is double-mind, not flirting with sins of this world but rather giving the a full sacrifice of self, then Satan will flee, cause he knows he can not tempt you with what you don’t desire or want. So it is time for me and you, to cleanse our hands of the gruesome sins of this world and ask Jesus, please purify our hearts and make us more like You. God bless you all, the Lord loves you and so do I. Samuel Head

Psalm 51:1 Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithfulness; According to the greatness of Your compassion, wipe out my wrongdoings. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my guilt And cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my wrongdoings, For I know my wrongdoings, And my sin is constantly before me.
