Matthew 25:1-4 Prudence In Letting Your Light Shine

Matthew 25:1-4

1“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom. 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. 3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take extra oil with them; 4 but the prudent ones took oil in flasks with their lamps.

The Parable of ten virgins is telling how one can be ready for the soon coming of bridegroom which is Christ Jesus. There are two types of bridegrooms who are virgins and they are required to bring lamps with oil to light the path way to the groom’s house. It might be night time when he  brings his new bride to his house, where they spend their first night together as husband and wife. Being prepared for Jesus’ second advent (second coming) is important for Christian of the Lord’s church. Lamps need oil to burn a flame and light up the path, scripture says God’s word is lamp to tell you and how to walk.

Proverbs 13:16 Every prudent person acts with knowledge, But a fool displays foolishness.

Being foolish in God’s word to set up one for problems and not prepare for endtime events.  Just like Jesus’s first advent there was confusion with the different believers of God. The hope near  the time of Jesus’ birth was freedom from the Roman Empire and to make Israel a great nation on earth to bring peace then rule over all the earth. Just before Jesus ascension in the Book of Act 1, the disciple said hey Jesus you can leave yet, Israel is still under Roman rule and we are saved yet.

Acts 1:6 So, when they had come together, they began asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time that You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”

How can we as modern day followers of Jesus not fall into the same mistake and not get twisted in false beliefs?  There is only one sure way, study God’s daily life like eating bread. I bet you know how good your favorite sandwich tastes like, maybe peanut butter and jelly, only a fool would neglect good food and the same kind fool would neglect God’s would and be mislead to unprepared on judgment day and then be left behind with all who missed the wonderful arrival of bridegroom and the bride going home. God bless you, the Bridegroom Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel H .
