21 Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
Who isn’t just like Peter, who has a problem with family members. This family is always letting you down, other family members and many times this family member says, I’m sorry and It won’t happen again. After a while you and other family members will say, that people’s sorry is meaningless, cause they keep repeating problems and issues. When Peter asks Jesus. “How many times must I forgive my brother, up to seven times?” Jesus put a shocker in the mind of Peter and said up to seventy times seven times. He pulled a shocker on most people and many Christians also. I know for myself and many of you, there are people in your lives that have offended or hurt us and we can’t find it in our hearts to forgive him or her. But if the Lord can find it within His heart to forgive and have mercy to not only forgive but forget our wrongful at. Should we call ourselves by His doing the same?
Matthew 18:21-35 is the parable about the unmerciful servant and how the kingdom of heaven relates to forgiveness, on God’s part and His followers. I will keep this blog short, to rest your eyes and mind, also rest myself. God bless you all, may the Lord keep and bless you. Love Samuel
Numbers 14:18 ‘The Lord is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations.’
