1 Corinthians 9:10-14 Food In God’s House

1 Corinthians 9:10-14

10 Or is He speaking altogether for our sake? Yes, for our sake it was written because the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops. 11 If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? 12 If others share the right over you, do we not more? Nevertheless, we did not use this right, but we endure all things so that we will cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ. 13 Do you not know that those who perform sacred services eat the food of the temple, and those who attend regularly to the altar have their share from the altar? 14 So also the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel to get their living from the gospel.

People who perform sacred or worship services, like priests, do that service because it’s the calling they feel comes from the Lord. They don’t do it for the money, but for their love to share God’s word for those hungry enough for the gospel. People who perform the sacred service do get hungry for real food, so they deserve to have something to eat, and  the scripture here says don’t the priest deserve some of your material things, (which is whatever a person gets paid or purchased with). In the Old Testament, people who wanted to make a sacrifice for the sin offerings, couldn’t do it themselves. They had to take their offering to a priest. Only a Priest could do it. Still, he felt a strong desire to serve God. After the priest performs the holy sacrifice, the priest is allowed to eat the sacrifice.

Leviticus 6:26 The priest who offers it for sins shall eat it. It shall be eaten in a holy place, in the court of the tent of meeting.

The job of a pastor or priest is to teach God’s word and to take care of the people who worship the Lord, and believe me, a Pastor’s job is tough, and  it’s 24/7. They never know if they will get a phone call, at any time of day or night. So the priest isn’t expecting any payment or if he demands any payment, but he would be very grateful, and  he will appreciate your gift. But scripture plainly says to pay your tithe, so that there will be food in His house, how else do you think the priests eat and how else do you think God’s house is taken care of, if worshipper benefits from the church worship, then the worshippers shouldn’t hinder the gospel from reaching someone else. The Holy Bible says also if we don’t give our tithe or material things to Him, then we are robbing Him, can you be a Christian and a thief at the same time? I personally know I was a thief for many years and going to church, but I was worried I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills or have food to eat. I was reminded, I was robbing God, so I started paying my tithe my 10% and I have been truly blessed, with even more than some. So do your part and  don’t be greedy with what the Lord has given you, it’s only 10% you can keep the rest. God bless you, Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel J Head

Malachi 3:8“Willa man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you! 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.
