1 Corinthians 7:32-35 Who is Your Concern Your Spouse or God

1 Corinthians 7:32-35(NASB)

33 But I want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;33 but one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife, 34 and his interests are divided. The woman who is unmarried, and the virgin, is concerned about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how she may please her husband. 35 This I say for your own benefit; not to put a restraint upon you, but to promote what is appropriate and to secure undistracted devotion to the Lord.

I am not a married man & i have no current girlfriend, & this Bible passage speaks heavy to me, as a man who says, i work for the Lord. It is telling me, the Lord should be my first love & my concern, which is easy, because I have no relationship with anyone. But i know if i had a girlfriend or  Mrs. Samuel Head, she would be a concern of mine, cause i wanna provide for the wife I would love & have concern for. I am a fan of the late great Johnny Cash (Man in Black), he has a song called “Flesh & Blood,” & in the song lyric, the sing, “Flesh & Blood, need Flesh & Blood & you’re the one i need. The Lord wants be our first love & no one else should take His place;

Deuteronomy 6:5 (NASB)You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

I have family member whose relationship for their loved one, seem strong then their God, who they say they believe in, but Scripture say we will know people by the fruits they bear;

Matthew 7:20 (NASB) So then, you will know them by their fruits.21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

How easy is for us a man and woman to put flesh & blood over the Spirit of God, it was easy for Adam to listen to Eve, when she said take this fruit & eat & he loved her some much, he disobey the Lord Creator & took a bite of the fruit, we all his sons & daughters & paying for. But it is our first love, the Lord, who will save us from our first parents’ deadly mistake;

Revelation 1:5 (NASB) and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first born of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood.

Sometimes I feel lonely in my single life, I wanna share my love & time with someone special. It can be lonely with no one to talk to about common interests, or to have laughs or someone to dance with or have intimacy with, but the Lord tells me to work for Him, make my desire to tell you & others of His love for you. He wants to get intimate with His first love;

Song of Solomon 4:9-11 ((NASB) 9“You have made my heart beat faster, my sister, my bride; You have made my heart beat faster with a single glance of your eyes, With a single strand of your necklace.10 “How beautiful is your love, my sister, my bride!How much better is your love than wine,And the fragrance of your oilsThan all kinds of spices!11 “Your lips, my bride, drip honey;Honey and milk are under your tongue,And the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

My dear brothers & sister, if the Lord is your first love, then He will reward you, with His undying faithful love. Your husband or wife will die on you & no amount of love you share with them will stop that, put your first love & concern in your Lord God & you will never leave us alone;

1 Kings 8:57(NASB) May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers; may He not leave us or forsake us,

My dear friend, I hope you make the Lord your God your first love & concern, there is nothing wrong with having a wife or husband, but that person should never come for your Creator God. God bless you all, the Lord loves you & so do I. Sam H.

Luke 13:25(NASB) Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’
