1 Corinthians 5:3-4 Worship with the Church in Spirit and the Coronavirus

1 Corinthians 5:3-4

3 For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is making everyone keep a distance and even church members are not assembling together, for a time of worship and praise of the Lord they love. Most brothers and sisters of the Lord, are joining together by some internet or conference call program. Of course, we can sing hymns and ask for prayer requests and hear a sermon preached. But we can’t feel each other’s warm spirits, say Happy Sabbath, or give each other a simple hug. The writer in 1 Corinthian 5:3-4, is away from the church he loves because he is currently locked up and serving time for spreading the gospel of Christ. If he wasn’t locked up he would  be obeying the call for believers to assembly together and worship;

Psalm 22:25 From You comes to my praise in the great assembly; I shall pay my vows before those who fear Him.

Like the apostle Paul, I love the Lord’s church and worshipping together with brothers and sisters in Christ and watching their children, also singing and giving praises is awesome. I could never lay in bed and hope to get an extra hour of shut-eye or being a bedside baptist is not as relaxing as resting in a great assembly with the Lord. But  Paul was telling he followed Church brothers and sisters in Christ, while they had a Church Sabbath service, he was with them. While Paul was locked, he worshipped in Spirit with his church family from many miles away. He kneel down, closed his eyes lifted up his prayers for his beloved church family, and joined them in to give thanks to God the Father of life, mercy, and salvation. My thoughts and prayers are with church families and with many of God’s children in many churches all over the world, who want to assemble together and give praise and worship, to the Lord our God. But the coronavirus won’t stop the children of God, from worshiping Him. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I. May the Lord keep you safe, I’m talking to you, the Bride of Christ, His church. Let us all keep each other in our thoughts & spirits. Keep in touch with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Love ya, Sam H.
