Psalm 22:14 Sorrow Killed Him

Psalm 22:14

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.

How did the Messiah Jesus Christ really die, was it from the amount of blood He bleeds from the flogging and being nailed to the cross?  Was the separation from God the Father, from our sins that made Him slowly die? Or did Jesus simply die of a broken heart? Maybe the clue or hint is in Psalm 22:14 and John 19:14, but scripture says Jesus’ heart pours out water like wax.

John 19:34 Yet one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

Sometimes the people who study medicine can answer the word of God also. Any of you ever heard of the word metaphor, it is a medical term for a broken heart. The experience of metaphor is said to be intense emotional stress or pain. I don’t know about you, but I felt several broken hearts, so very painful it can make a person stay single and not seek another relationship. According to Wikipedia a broken heart from a failed romance can be extremely painful and lead a person to depression and anxiety. In the modern world, we have medicine for both. For Jesus, His comfort was in the relationship with His Father and He spent many times praying to Him. When He was prophesying His death, He became troubled in spirit and asked to be with Him in the time of suffering.

John 12:27  “Now My soul has become troubled; and what am I to say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

When Psalm 22 starts out, we read the word, “My God, my God why have you forsaken? “ Jesus had already had a form of a broken heart feeling separated from God. Jesus also loved the people who were persecuting Him, and prophetic words written in Isaiah 53, say Jesus would be a Man of Sorrow cause we despised and hid our faces from Him.

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and abandoned by men, a man of great pain and familiar with sickness; and like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.

So does the word of God and medical science Jesus die of a broken heart? According to doctors who study the nervous system, during a heartbreak. the muscle of the chest will tighten more intensely. Broken heart syndrome is death caused by heartache, this causes more chest and stomach pain. The stress caused by this traumatic stress will lead to heart failure.  A healthy heart is a muscle that pumps and squeezes to send blood to the body. When heart failure happens “reduced ejection fraction” occurs, which means the heart is weak and it simply doesn’t have enough blood to pump to the body and the person dies. So what is left in the heart becomes separated into water and blood? When the Romans soldiers see if Jesus is dead or not, water and blood come out of His side and the evidence of death by a broken heart is seen. We owe Jesus a lot of love, we owe Him all our love, not just a little bit, or even 50% or 80% or 90% but all 100% all of our love, cause no one should ever die of a broken heart. I love you, Jesus, God bless you, you know He loves you and so do I. Samuel Head.

Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.

Proverbs 15:13 A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.
