Psalm 22:11 My Help Comes From the Lord

Psalm 22:11 My Help Comes From the Lord

Psalm 22:11

Do not be far from me, for trouble is near; for there is no one to help.

You ever notice that for some people who say they believe in but God really doesn’t attend church or read the Bible will only ask for His help or for prayers, when times or life get really bad. If scripture tells us anything, no one can be trusted, not even ourselves. The first harm done to anyone in scripture was by a family member and Cain killed his brother Abel, (Genesis 4:8 ). In the same book of Genesis another family betrayal when Joseph’s brothers was saying let’s kill him but one sibling said, fake his death, sell him into slavery and tell our father, he was eaten by wild animals, ( Genesis 37:18-28).  Jesus had twelve.

Matthew 10:1  Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness. 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew; and James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, the one who also betrayed Him.

When Matthew first met Judas, he didn’t know Judas betrayed Jesus, but it is written there, and the phases Judas betrays in the gospels of Matthew, Mark Luke, and John fifteen times. In Spain, parents can’t name their child Judas, but there were two disciples named Judas’ (John 14:22 ). Did Jesus know Judas was gonna betray Him, before Judas revealed who Jesus was to the guards with a kiss, maybe so?

Luke 22:48 But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

If the Son of Man can’t trust a man who followed Him for three years, heard Him preach, teach, heal, calm sea storms, and raise the dead, how can me and you trust anyone? Instead of going to the Lord last and we can’t even depend on ourselves, the Lord should be the one who we ask to be near us at all times. In these modern times, it’s hard to trust anyone even more. With internet access and capability, anyone can be anybody, anywhere. In my experience, I came to trust God Almighty and Him alone, years ago I learned that Psalm 118:8 is the middle of the Holy Bible. If the Savior of the world can be betrayed by a human, what hope do you and I have in other humans? God bless you all, the Lord loves you and so do I. Samuel Head.

Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people.
